Went to the Brick House at 10 on a cold rainy Friday night at the end of January to place a late to go dinner order. There were only a couple people in the downstairs bar but it sounded like the upstairs restaurant was busy and lively. The bartender was friendly and promptly gave me a menu and took my drink order for while I was waiting. She did not pressure me to decide quickly or to order more drinks. She also answered all the questions I had on dishes I found interesting on the menu. She took my food order. While waiting I was amused by the bartenders interaction with another patron at the bar. My order came out quickly (so quickly I didn't have time for a second drink). I had ordered a Western burger with sweet potato fries and had requested a side of ranch dressing since I was staying at an Airbnb and didn't have condiments. When I opened it to eat the ranch dressing had been forgotten. I had been initially very disappointed but the sweet potato fries were so good that I didn't even miss it!.

We were looking for some delicious food while visiting Lake of the Ozarks, and found Brick House, a Cajun restaurant, on Google. We went for lunch with the kids on a Wednesday during the off-season. The dining area was not too busy, and the server took care of us quickly. I didn't know what to order, so I decided to try the gumbo, the jambalaya, and the coconut shrimp. The coconut shrimp were fried perfectly and had good flavor. My Bloody Mary was also really good, with just the right amount of kick to it. I would 100% pass on the Jambalaya if I were to eat here again. It came out like a mushy ball of rice, and the flavor was just ok. Instead I would save room for the gumbo, because the gumbo definitely made up for where the jambalaya lacked. Bathroom had a black light instead of regular lighting. Price was in the medium range. We found parking right in front, but I think you'd be hard pressed to find easy parking during the regular season.

The food wasn't bad but could be improved. Went in expecting cajun....and they changed their menu. They are NO longer a Cajun place. I got the Western sliders, which did taste good, but they were nothing special. The fries were a joke. I would rather have had McDonald's fries. The Sweet n Spicy shrimp had a good flavor, but were drenched in sauce and it kinds took away from the shrimp. The Chicken A LA Mer had a great flavor but was so salty, couldn't even finish half of it. The Staff was great. Friendly and quick. But with all the places to eat at the Lake, with better quality, I probably won't be back in here.

First time experience was not great. Service was slow but seems to be the normal since no one wants to work anymore. So we got past that part since we expect it every where anymore. Food was good once we got it. What made our experience the worse was when the bartender decided to try to attack an older gentleman customer with a brass pipe who only complained about the slow service by a simple comment. During this our daughter was sitting in her chair when the bartender about took her out during his altercation. My husband, our friends, our kids and I where all in shock of what we just whitenesses and we did ask for our check to leave as it was extremely uncomfortable inside the restaurant when they let the bartender come back to his job. I did call the next day to complain and share our story of what we saw to management. I was to get a call back from that manager and yup never did. We will not return and I definitely wouldn’t suggest this place for anyone with children as from what I was told the owners condoned the behavior of their bartender even when their security cameras had to show other wise as it was 100% not justify able! Worst experience at a restaurant down here yet and been coming here my...

The food was incredible! I've always loved Cajun food anyway so that helps but I wasn't disappointed with that. The issue I have that kept me from hitting the 5th star is the fact that I ordered the Cajun fried catfish, Boudin balls and STILL had room for a cup of gumbo which was also awesome. The portions are ridiculous though. 4 boudin balls a little larger than a golf ball for $12. Two small, thin filets of catfish for $12 served with 1/3 ear of corn. Man, that was depressing because Cajuns don't know how to serve up small portions so I was expecting to leave full. Nope! The server was super cool. He earned his gratuity and was very knowledgeable about the menu. I loved the experience but if I was the owner, I'd be on top of that portions issue. We spent $150 to feed two adults and 1 teenage girl and two 8 year old girls. Most of us left still hungry except for the one that got a big ol PB&J. We aren't large people, either. We aren't competition eaters. We are an average family that likes to get what we paid for. Otherwise, great place and we will be back ... (with some food...

I am going to start this review out by saying I have had delicious meals at this establishment and have been many times. Unfortunately, I went to eat here yesterday and I have contemplated leaving a review and I feel it's appropriate considering it was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. Firstly, we waited 20 minutes for a drink order. Then I had to ask for our drinks multiple times after we ordered them. I never got the lemons for my water, no refills were had without asking multiple times. They were apparently switching over from breakfast to lunch at 12:30 which took 30 minutes? And then we waited another 45 minutes to an hour for our food. Our food came out wrong. Ingredients were missing. I asked for the missing ingredients, was told that she would bring them. Nope! Never got anything. I am telling you right now our waitress could care less. Literally less.....No comps were made, no sincere apologies were made, nothing! One of the worst $80 meals I've ever been "served." I hope management sees this and understands this should...
