First time dining and it was for dinner last night. THE POSITIVES: This is an exquisitely appointed, beautifully decorated upscale restaurant with a terrific layout. The decor is formal and details noted. Seating was spacious and comfortable. The wait staff know their menus and were helpful in suggestions. The food was delicious and beautifully plated. THE NEGATIVES: We ordered 2 cocktails and then we were asked if we were ready to order our meal. I said, "Yes but ONLY IF the two having cocktails were going to be able to enjoy them before food was served." The answer was, "Yes, of course.". So we ordered 1 very dry and very cold Grey Goose martini with olives, up and a margarita and then gave our waiter. The bread server arrives and offers bread, interrupting our conversation. After more than 5-6 minutes the cocktails appeared. The martini was barely chilled. The margarita was fine. Then, immediately the serve staff arrives with the 4 appetizers and proceeds to misdeliver the 2 soups and one of the 2 salads. The serve staff is instructed who ordered what (which should not be necessary) and then proceeds to juggle and jockey appetizers to their intended recipients. It was a circus with plates and soup bowls being loudly exchanged. Both soups were not anywhere close to being piping hot. Then, another female server arrives, interrupts our conversation, and has some oysters on the half shell and a pear salad. She rudely says, "Who has these?". So I said, "That is not our food." The entrees arrived and were placed correctly but delivered with force from the right and the left of each diner. The wait staff again appeared, interrupting conversation with "Anybody want another bread?". Followed by another wait person with a water pitcher to refill water glasses with great awkwardness. At another table we saw wine glasses being REMOVED FROM THE TABLE and then filled with the newly uncorked wine. We also saw a table being cleared by wait staff putting their hands on the rims of glasses as opposed to the stems. Dessert and decaf cappuccinos were ordered. Again, plates were served from the wrong side and put down on the table roughly. The coffee was, at the most, lukewarm. So the bill for all of this was nearly $400 which we have no problem with EXCEPT at this price point and when compared to other upscale restaurants, we would expect all service to be FLAWLESS. The wait staff is very young, but they need to be educated and trained on the finer points of table service. The details matter. All the details matter. People want the complete dining experience to be executed effortlessly. There is an art to it and unfortunately Bourbon and Fig is missing this key feature. So we are hopeful management will take this constructive criticism and seek to improve. We will be back at some point over the holidays to see if staff issues have improved. We hope so because this is definitely a restaurant worthy of patronage...
Read moreWe dined at B&F recently and a the experience wasn’t the best but we are giving grace being that they’re just getting going.
First, let me say the establishment is BEAUTIFUL! The decor and layout is so well thought out! Loved it! I wish the music (if there was any) played a little louder and the lights were a little more dim for evening service, to help set the ambiance a little more. I love how they have the pillows on the seat to make to feel selected from the tables next to you.
We were sat and were greeted with options of water about 10 mins from being seated. The actual server came a little after. Drinks took some time. The French 75 is always a go to but it wasn’t chilled really. It was just cold. If that makes sense. The smoked bourbon and fig was good. I thought it would come out with a Smokey presentation hence the name and the fine dining theme.
We love how they have a lot of things branded like the glassware, the butter, event the nice cube in the Smokey bourbon and fig cocktail.
We are TRUE foodies as I am a business owner in the food industry and school trained Chef myself. We ordered the corn croquettes, short rib and oysters as starters. We have a plan to order quite a few things off the menu. Unfortunately, that’s as far as we got.
•Oysters-we’re NOT cold like oysters should be. Maybe serving them over ice vs cold rock salt? They should be ice cold. They weren’t briny or salty like most. However, we know all oysters are different. The temperature on them was just really unpleasant. I ate 1/6.
•Corn croquettes -weren’t as good as I anticipated. There wasn’t really any corn flavor in them. You got pieces here and there but it was more like a mozzarella stick. It had a nice crisp to it however. The cheese center was a goupy cheese vs a creamy melty which I’m sure was intentional but it was a thick mouthfeel and not desirable.
•Shortrib -was tastyyy just needed a little salt. The polenta was nice. Gorgonzola flavor wasn’t as present but it was the best of the starters.
Bread service was a nice touch. The bread and butter were good. The honey cayenne didn’t have a kick but was still good.
I watched the server go to other tables multiple times before even checking on us. 15 mins passed and we didn’t get check in. By the time she came back to check on us, I asked for the check because we had been there for over an hr and hadn’t even made it to being asked about entrees. We were going to order the chicken, rockfish, bacon salad, wagyu, sticky pudding and crème brûlée.
We will return and give it a try again for sure. I got the shrimp bisque to go and it was DEEEEELISH! Definitely going to order that again. Overall, I think the potential is there and the vision. It’s still early on so best wishes to...

I dined at Bourbon & Fig last night (Saturday), and even though the restaurant was very busy — not surprising for a place that has only been open for about three weeks — the experience was outstanding.
I started with a dirty martini. It was excellent: well-balanced, perfectly chilled, and exactly what I hoped for to kick off the evening.
For appetizers, the corn croquettes were a standout — crisp on the outside with a creamy, flavorful center. By this time I added a glass of Prosecco. My Wagyu steak arrived cooked perfectly to temperature, tender and richly seasoned. The evening ended with a chai crème brûlée, which was the perfect finish: a familiar classic elevated with a warm, spiced twist.
The décor is sophisticated without feeling pretentious — stylish, comfortable, and inviting. It truly feels like a rich, destination-worthy dining experience without having to leave Woodbridge, which is something the area has been craving for a long time.
Service from our main waiter was a bit slow and scattered at moments, but with a full house and such a new operation, it was completely understandable and did not diminish how much we enjoyed the night. The rest of the service crew was very friendly and attentive, and the manager paid us a visit during the meal — overall, the service was attentive and warm.
No photos this time — I was too caught up in enjoying the food and atmosphere — but I already have three more visits planned in the next few weeks. Photos will come soon!
A friendly suggestion for the owner and chef: As Bourbon & Fig settles in, consider introducing a monthly tasting menu — something similar to what 2941 Restaurant does. It would keep the experience fresh and exciting, and give enthusiastic regulars even more reason to return again and again.
Final Verdict: Exceptional food, refined ambiance, and a truly memorable dining experience — Bourbon & Fig is already a standout. Highly...
