Buffet City/Cajun Seafood Boil — Restaurant in Lake Township

I do not usually do reviews, just I did one for the restaurant of a friend, with pictures and all. But this time I have to. This place has many reviews and an average of 3.9 honestly I do not know why and how. I agree with the negative reviews from the last two months to two years ago: food was cold, even when they put it on the trays. But the restaurant was full. I do not know how all that people went there and were eating all that, but tray empty, coming new one not much time later, and ALL cold or almost. no taste in the plates, even the shrimps or the long ones - langostinos, tasted dry. Salmon... If it is salmon is farmed in cheapest place possible. meat and hibachi place is not nice, I had to ask for beef, but they did not have nothing at all neither intention to refill. Only one chef cooking, doing it as best as he could, but technique was lacking some improvement: he scrubbed the grill before mez but it seems NOT the spatules to move the meat. ALL was burned or with rest of charcoal from other people's food even that. I did not see how he cooked my hibachi stuff, but saw others and they do not ask which sauce you want. While he was cooking mine, after long wait (remember, only one person) I went to eat something... Ehem. when I go to buffets I like to eat cooked things, something I do not do at home, try new things... Chicken... Did not call my eye in any of it's options. Crab with cheese, old bad seafood substitute, too bad. All what was breaded... No taste inside or semi poked, but burned outside. Finally... I had to eat pasta, rice, potatoes, sweet cold potatoes, Smashed potatoes!!!... The best dish in the place... To feel I ate something. But let me tell you: rice dry, not well cooked. Pasta overcooked. This white. Chinese pasta... Also overcooked, any of them tasted at all. Except the smashed potatoes: buttered and salty... Nothing else good. dessert: nice to the eye, but dry, maybe from yesterday .. and it was Saturday and full. I do not understand it

Only pineapple and the small coco cookies where good. I will not go anymore and do not recommend. Also, I learned to not check just average and total amount of reviews, but checking first the bad reviews. The worst is now the feeling in my stomach and they did not...

I wish I could give negative rating. My granddaughter had a vegetable egg roll today and immediately her lip began to swell and her arms broke out in hives. Due to having a peanut allergy, we specifically asked the waiter/server if the egg rolls were cooked in peanut oil or peanuts. We told them she could not have any food cooked in peanuts. The waiter assured us the egg rolls were not cooked in any peanut related foods/oils. Afterwards we asked another staff member and we were told the egg roll was cooked in peanut butter. we asked to speak to manager, the staff lady laughed and said, just take her to emergency , she will be fine. We asked for a refund and they did not want to give us our money back until we had to raise hell. They were negligent, did not want to give us the president contact info so we could formally send a complaint. Please do not go it go to this restaurant. They were disrespectful and rude. Terrible people running...

I am livid. I spent all of this money just to sit in a restaurant with the lights shut off. This is abnormal and I’ve been to plenty of Buffets. My party and I were eating when all of a sudden the lights went off. It’s been about 40 minutes and the lights are still off.

Everyone in the buffet had to use the lights on their phones just to see the food and make plates.

I’ve heard several employees speaking English but as soon as I politely ask about the lights, all of a sudden they couldn’t understand me.

The staff is walking around smiling and laughing and eating but I don’t see anyone working on the lights. They haven’t even said anything to the customers as to why the lights went off or how long it would be before it turns back on.

The food is cold now and of course, isn’t being replaced or replenished.

I would NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone. There are plenty of buffets where one could go but...
