After a rather disappointing experience trying the local Home Run Inn I noticed Chuck's Pizza pop up in the ol' Uber Eats rolodex. I decided to try the standard sausage/pepperoni (if they can't get this basic pizza right then it's a hard fail) as well as a specialty sandwich of theirs called the "Freddy."
Pepperoni & Sausage Pizza - Price - Good prices. $16 for a large cheese when that's usually the price of a medium. 4/5 stars
Appearance - Thin crust is perfectly cooked. There's a good balance between fresh baked softness & crispiness. Nice spread of ingredients and they didn't skimp out on the meat. Rather large square slices than what is usually served in Chicago restaurants. It's the equivalent of a giant New York slice, but in square form. 4/5
Taste - You immediately notice how salty it is upon your first bite. Very oily as well. The terrible sauce completely overtakes all other ingredients. You can really only taste the meat as the salt levels are just that high. The giant slices fill you up quickly. 2/5
Freddy Sandwich - Price - $6 so its in the ballpark, but missing extras like a drink 4/5 Presentation - Sliced Italian sausage laid flat on Italian bread, topped with peppers & sealed tight with a huge amount of melted mozzarella cheese. Doesn't look to appealing as everything is packed tight & not revealing. The bread is soft & cheese melted so it gets a 3/5
Taste - Spicy after taste that you really feel in your chest. Everything is warm & soft including the meat. Salty sauce once again ruins everything. The meat itself is well seasoned & can stand on it's own merit, but is unfortunately touched by the sauce in most areas. Luckily, the sauce is spread thin so you taste more of the other ingredients. A surprisingly spicy sandwich like this should come with a drink by default to wash it down or a side to waste time between bites while your insides calm down. 3/5
Overall -
Chuck's really needs to switch up their sauce. It seems like they're using cheap Hunt's brand tomato sauce which is notoriously salty & hard to mask no matter what ingredients you add to it. It makes you wonder if the chef has ever tasted their own dishes because if they did that sauce would've been switched out a long time ago. The prices are good as well as the other ingredients, but it's unfortunate that they use such a cheap...
Read moreIf you're on the hunt for a pizza that delivers both in size and flavor, Chuck Pizza’s Jumbo Pizza is the real deal. Priced at $24.99, this beast of a pie is more than just a budget-friendly option—it’s a full-on flavor experience that satisfies both your cravings and your wallet.
Right out of the box, the jumbo size lives up to its name. It’s massive—perfect for feeding a group, or keeping leftovers that actually last more than a day (if you can resist finishing it in one go). The crust strikes a nice balance between chewy and crispy, with just enough char for that authentic, slightly smoky flavor.
What really stands out is the generous topping distribution. Whether you go classic with pepperoni or adventurous with a custom combo, every bite is loaded. The cheese is gooey and rich without being greasy, and the sauce has a bold, slightly sweet tomato flavor with a hint of garlic that ties everything together beautifully.
At $24.99, you’d expect a good deal—but Chuck Pizza goes beyond that. You’re getting great quality, serious portion size, and a pizza that actually makes you want to come back for more
After crushing a few slices of Chuck Pizza’s jumbo pie, I figured why not top it off with something sweet? Enter: their ice cream.
Let me just say—don’t sleep on it.
The ice cream is rich, creamy, and actually holds its own against the big-name dessert spots. I went with the classic vanilla (keeping it simple), and it had that smooth, custardy texture with just the right amount of sweetness. Not icy, not too soft—just solid quality. And if you’re a toppings person, they’ve got options to mix it up.
It’s the kind of dessert that doesn’t feel like an afterthought, which is honestly rare at a pizza spot.
Final Scoop: Whether you’re capping off your meal or just need a sweet pick-me-up, the ice cream at Chuck Pizza is 100% worth it. Pair it with that jumbo slice, and you’ve got yourself a...
Read moreFound them on grubhub. Was great the first 2 orders. Ordered on grubhub for delivery the 3rd time...was almost 45 min late. Today I ordered 3 pizzas and a sandwich for pickup thinking it was rhe drivers fault last time...nope it was the restaurants fault. They open at 4 grubhub said I could pick up at 4pm. Thinking that they get employees there early enough to make the 4pm pick up orders. I was wrong. All the manager did was complain about why orders come in so early.. you have to change it with grubhub if you aren't going to be ready. I was told a 30 min wait. I went home and came back. Waited another 40 minutes. They lost one of my pizzas and thought that making one 2 inches bigger was helping me out. My party started at 4pm and we had no food until 530pm when I live 5 minutes away. This was my kids 2nd birthday party which I missed out on half of the party I was hosting. The manager gave me an old cookie from a case that had a fly in it and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. I was disgusted. The manager seemed to care about baking cookies instead of getting pizzas out for the customers who were waiting and didn't even give me a fresh cookie or a 2nd look. He kept carrying a dirty old rag with him wherever he went not seeming to care. I thought I had found a great pizza place and now I'm definitely never going back. This place will not get another dime out of me. Also no employee was smiling or cared either. Kept telling me a few more minutes....
