Cynthia's Gumbo Express – Part 2

I had to drop a part ✌️of my review for Cynthia's Gumbo Express—and what better day than Juneteenth to celebrate culture, community, and good food? I knew today was the perfect time to show up, show out, and support one of my favorite Black-owned restaurants.

When I first shared my review, Cynthia and her husband were still running their food truck. Now, they’ve got a full restaurant location—and I couldn’t be happier for them. Of course, I had a craving for their Chicken Gumbo Ya-Ya, and I grabbed the Lobster Seafood Gumbo for my wife (she loved it, by the way!).

When I walked in, both owners greeted me with the same warmth and love I remembered—they came from the back with smiles and hugs, and personally thanked me for my first review. I just told them it was my pleasure. I was simply speaking from the heart and wanted the world to know how great the experience was.

They’re two of the coolest, most down-to-earth people you’ll ever meet. As entrepreneurs, we have to support each other. If not us, then who?

I wish them nothing but continued success and expansion. I hope to see Cynthia's Gumbo Express locations all over the city one day.

Little bowl and also little rice not worth the $24 on Uber Eats…here is my reply to the owner…my name wouldn’t be beautiful v on Uber Eats…you want $24 for soup with shredded chicken pieces and 3 shrimp…also I had no crab in my soup and it states that there would be some…if I ordered the large what would have been the difference? 1 more piece of shrimp and more bland soup…no thank you I’ll spend my money else where…thanks to Uber Eats for...

I haven't had a chance to visit their location, just the food truck, but I absolutely love that they have vegan gumbo. I have been feeling disconnected to things recently and Interacting with the owners and taking the the time to sit and enjoy the food just made me feel connected to my culture.
