I recently had the pleasure of dining at Gyro Grill Mt. Greenwood in Chicago, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish! The restaurant's warm and inviting ambiance made me feel right at home, while their mouthwatering dishes took my taste buds on a delightful journey. Let me take you through the highlights of my visit, starting with the delectable starters, refreshing salads, and delectable sides.

Starters: The starters at Gyro Grill Mt. Greenwood set the tone for an exceptional culinary adventure. I highly recommend their sizzling Spanakopita - a crispy and savory delight that oozed with flavorful spinach and feta. Each bite was a perfect blend of textures and tastes, leaving me wanting more. Additionally, the Stuffed Grape Leaves were a revelation - bursting with tangy goodness and seasoned to perfection. A fantastic way to kickstart the meal!

Salads: For those looking for a lighter option, the salads at Gyro Grill Mt. Greenwood are a true delight. The Greek Salad was a colorful masterpiece, featuring fresh and crisp vegetables, complemented by a zesty vinaigrette that danced on my palate. The addition of olives and feta cheese added an authentic Mediterranean touch, making it a definite standout. Whether as a starter or a side dish, their salads are a must-try for all health-conscious foodies.

Sides: When it comes to sides, Gyro Grill Mt. Greenwood knows how to elevate a meal. Their Roasted Lemon Potatoes were a revelation - tender on the inside, with a tantalizing lemon-infused crust. I couldn't get enough of them! Moreover, the Garlic Hummus with warm pita bread was a creamy, garlicky delight that left me reaching for seconds. The restaurant's dedication to high-quality ingredients and skilled preparation shines through in their outstanding selection of sides.

I must also acknowledge the exceptional service provided by our waitress, Emma. Her attentiveness, knowledge of the menu, and friendly demeanor added an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience. Emma's recommendations were spot-on, and her genuine enthusiasm for the cuisine made us feel truly valued as customers. She was the perfect embodiment of the restaurant's commitment to excellence.

In conclusion, Gyro Grill Mt. Greenwood is a hidden gem in Chicago that deserves all the praise it can get. From the enticing starters to the refreshing salads and delectable sides, each dish is crafted with love and expertise. The addition of exceptional service by Emma truly elevated the entire experience. If you're in the mood for authentic Greek flavors and a warm dining atmosphere, look no further than Gyro Grill Mt. Greenwood. This restaurant is a true...

It genuinely pains me to have to leave this review, as I generally liked the food here and have been coming here for quite some time. The food is pretty consistent and the staff was always nice, so I never really had any complaints.

Unfortunately my last two trips here is causing me to change my mind. After getting recommended the baklava when asking one of the girls up front which dessert would be good to get, I bought two and took them home. After our dinner, we noticed that one of the baklava's had mold on it(after taking a bite), and wanted to let the restaurant know just in case they had others that might've also been going bad so they were aware. Of course, we had to throw both of ours out and was told by someone there that we'd receive a credit for the issues on our next visit and they were extremely apologetic.

Look, I know things happen and sometimes food goes bad unexpectedly for a multitude of reasons. I had no real reason to doubt this was an oversight and I had no problems ordering again given the usual consistency of their food and service. Unfortunately, my last trip left me a bit sour as they didn't honor my credit and had no recollection or seemed to care about it whatsoever. I was just told I can be given another baklava, which I quickly declined(no offense).

I added two photos that I took that had the mold, just in case the restaurant didn't want to believe me for some reason. It's unfortunate but I'll have to look for a new Greek spot...

I have been here 2-3 times before. My most recent visit, I had a hair in my tzatziki sauce and my gyrolls were burnt. I called and was told that the owner was not there so I had to wait until she could give me a call back. A week passed and I never received a call. Today I called the restaurant again and was rudely greeted by the owner. I explained to her what had happened with my food and that I was told I would get a call back. She said her employees never told her anything. The owner then told me that she has never had this issue in a year and a half and proceeded to say “so what do you want me to do?” How about be professional and apologetic? There’s a first for everything; therefore, this may have been the first time that her cooks burnt a customers gyrolls and lost a hair in a customers food. Then before I could ask for my refund, she hung up on me! Customer service is awful and I would recommend this place if you want a hair with...

I was in Chicago for a funeral and the few days I was there, the majority of places I went, the service was rude, snobbish, or inattentive. That was until I got to the gyro grill. The food and service were phenomenal! My order taker which I found out later was the owner took ownership of my needs and went above and beyond to make sure I had a well rounded meal to eat on the way back despite me never being there before. Will DEFINITELY eat here again the next time I'm out that way. THANK YOU MAUREEN! You were a gem in a sea of glass! P.S. Prices were surprisingly decent for the level of quality of food. They could easily be charging more and it would still be worth it!
