Update To address the recent response to my review: Let me be absolutely clear – I did not film your employees. Honestly, my phone's storage is far too valuable to waste on that.
Secondly, my initial frustration simply stemmed from being put on hold over the phone for 16 min, only to drive down there and walk in to find a manager with an attitude. This points to an internal communication issue that your management should address. It's a clear opportunity for your staff to learn – if you're too busy to answer the phone properly, perhaps don't answer at all.
For your reference, and to show my history as a paying customer, I've been a regular over the past couple of weeks, consistently ordering the same thing, which costs me exactly $26.14 (plus change) each time. I've never asked for anything for free and never would. If you like to go back and check your records, I ordered the same things earlier this year with the same price I can post those as well all the way back in as to January 2025. Just let me know
Ultimately, my experience has led me to decide to take my business elsewhere. There are other Mexican restaurants just down the street that will gladly welcome my $26+ multiple times a week. So, I wish you a good day."
So don’t come for me just because you are understaffed and have rude managers
I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, around 4:50 PM in Chicago, Illinois. Prior to arriving, I called to place an order and was placed on hold for a total of 16 minutes across two separate calls. After driving approximately 15 minutes to the location, I requested to speak with the manager, who stated her name is Teresa, to address the issues I encountered. Unfortunately, my interaction with Teresa was unprofessional and unpleasant. She raised her voice and insisted that I place my order immediately or leave, stating she was busy. Due to the combination of the long phone wait and the subsequent interaction with the manager, I cannot recommend this...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place…. But if I could give it no stars, I most definitely would! First off, when I called the first time they didn’t even say hello they just picked up and sounded like they put the phone down and you could hear all the background noise and conversations ( I should’ve taken this as a sign) stood on a few minutes then I hung up and called back placed my order chorizo breakfast, 2 Asada tortas, and a chicken flauta dinner and a taco plain. It was about $58. When husband picked it up they didn’t even get my name right it was under “Linda” but I can see how that can get mixed up….BUT the food was completely bland except for the tortas they were just okay, because everything else was horrible the chorizo breakfast had no taste and the corn tortillas were the reheated a few times on the comal texture and hard not warm at all…. The Flauta dinner was only 3 flautas and some lettuce and tomato no rice, no beans ! The chicken was pretty dry and barely any taste. The salsa that came with it was disgusting, looked somewhat like spaghetti tomato sauce….the tortas came with fries which we were like okay that seems kool maybe at least the fries will be good, cuz their fries right? …. Nope the fries were really undercooked not “fries at all” it almost feels like Pepe’s would do a better job …. Sorry never again … TBH by the looks of the food, taste and experience it seemed like they just cut the corners and if they put a bit more effort into a quality food/meal it would be different. I really hope it hasn’t been like this for the past 30 years. Also this was my first and last time ever at this spot. Sorry I wanted to like you guys but crossed completely out my list of trying all the neighborhood Mexican spots around so far … on to the next spot. Please don’t waste your money or even your time...
Read moreDined in with 3 others. Atmosphere is ok, and they definitely have enough seating for the amount of people who want to sit., so no problem there. Food is on par for a Tex-next restaurant serving what is supposed to be “authentic” Mexican food but really is serving a very Americanized version of Mexican cuisine. HOWEVER, the food, while on par for Tex-mex…is actually excellent for doing so and excelling in such category. Don’t come here for an “authentic” experience. Come here expecting Americanized Mexican cuisine.
Finally, as for the check. It came out to $105 for 4 people whom all got entrees and all got at least 1 alcoholic drink. And paying was a nightmare. They require you use these old, what seem to be out of date, digital receipts. When paying by credit card, and needing to split the bill, there is absolutely no easy way to split it by seat # (as in who got what at seat 1 and what do they own, plus tip and tax. They have a handy “split evenly” across 4 seats. And even though there were 4 of us who are all great friends, with inflation and one of the other people on the party drinking 3 drinks while we all each had one, became maddening. These credit card machines are new to me even though I’ve been going here for years. However the last time is was there was in 2021 and they didn’t have these clunky credit card machines. SUGGESTION to La Fiesta: keep doing what your doing with the food, it is just as expected. But get rid of the credit card machines. It is NOT the patrons jobs to split the bill, and the figure tax AND swipe our own cards. This is why we tip the servers, to do these things for...
