Been going to HRI all my life and I'm 47 years old now. Love everything about it ....... and then today happened.
I got to the archer location around 7- 7:30 p.m. walked in waited for the hotesss to be free to say how many we were going to be , she was confused as to who was there first I suppose, so I asked the couple who were off to my left if they were taken care of before me because they were there fist. They said they were still waiting on the hostess to get back to them about how much longer for thier table which she had no answer and she would have to go see, as soon as she left a big party of like 8 people showed up then the hostess got back and told the couple who were in front of Me in line that it will be 5 more minutes for thier table then she begins to ask the people who came in after me how many in thier party that's when another waitress shows up and knows the people and starts talking with them asking if they are going to dine in and that's when the manager shows up and asks who's next and the waitress tells the manager and hostess that they were her "family " and she was going to seat them herself.
I intervine and say i was next in line and the manager says they had called in ahead of time and that they were here earlier, I was like no they just showed up and were seated because a waitress was thier family then the hostess says I'm a liar and that they had been there before me she was so mad the manager had to calm her down by trying to apologize to me but then went back to say they called in reservations which I tell him I did to to which he says I didn't because you can't call in reservations , so ask him how did he know the other party called in reservations if that's not allowed , so then he went from saying my wait will be from 10 minutes to now 45 minutes which tells me they were both butt hurt because I caught them doing bullshit, we waited the 45 minutes they seat us to wait another 45 minutes just to get the waitress to come wait on us because she would get close but then walk away as to be avoiding us on purpose.
It was 10 p.m. when we finally got to eat . Some people in any retail job who get a title feel they vice president of the...
Read moreThe quality of food and service has been on the decline, and for us, we will never go back to this location. It may all seem trivial, but HRI pizza isn't cheap, I expect the experience to reflect the price tag. I don't care about the "what ifs" that caused my experience to be less then satisfactory, I am a paying customer who has frequented this company my entire life. I know the standard, and this isn't it
Our server forgot to get us our drinks, we needed to request them, including our bar drinks, which sat on the counter for 15 before I asked if those were ours. I got out of my seat approached our server who was leaning against the wall at the computer station, to ask for a refill. We we're right next to computer area, fully visable. They we're just too involved in the conversation they had with a coworker to notice my wave.
The glasses are so scratched, the appear dirty. This is unacceptable. I shouldn't have to reach into a glass to verify it is scratches and not dirt. Not everyone in my group had similar scratches.
Our appitizer came cool, not hot. The pizza was cooked well. No complaints.
When we were ready to leave we had more pizza left than we had thought (about 1 XL pizza worth). After waiting for our server I asked for a box. They brought over 2 small silver circle take out containers that pasta usually comes in. When I spoke up, "I said I asked for a box, please." The server seemed surprised that I didn't want to layer all of my pizza on itself in these containers. The server insisted it would all fit. Which I'm sure it would, but I didn't want the pizza to lay on itself. If you've ever don't this you know that the pizza shapes itself to the layers below and above and makes for an unappetizing pizza lasagna. Again the server insisted it would fit, instead of arguing, I used the paper that was provided to layer in-between the pizza. I didn't want to do this. I wanted a box.
Like I said, there are other HRI locations. This one was just convenient after a trip in DT Chicago, because it is fairly close to I55. But that doesn't warrent my business any longer. We had issues with our previous visit at this...
