This was such a horrible experience! While my niece was trying on dresses, one of the staff members was asking her if she is coming back another time. My niece said yeah, maybe. So the staff girl took it upon herself to tell my niece that’s the last dress she is trying on, while other clients were trying on so many one after another. My niece told me she said that as I was looking at another dress that caught my eye and I told her we are here and I want you to try it on now. So, I gave the dress to one of the staff girls and she gave it back to the person that was working with my niece and told me the same thing. At that point, I was frustrated because I am looking at other clients and they are saying, “can she try on this dress?” The staff members respond, “you can try on as many as you want!” Not to mention, this was around 8:30PM and they close at 9:00PM. It seems as though, they were judging us by our appearance and assumed we were not going to purchase anything that day. I yelled out to them, why are you allowing them to try on a lot of dresses but not us?? She responded, you are coming back another day? I told her we are here right now, she is trying on the dress! It is not their concern, whether if we are coming back or not. It is their job to allow us to try on dresses. Did I have to scream out and shout, “we make 6 figures or flash out our money for them to assist us?! The staff member gave me attitude as I was telling her all of this. She was very unprofessional. Then she changes her reasoning, and gives me a different excuse, saying once she comes out, she can’t try on any more dresses. I told her, nobody said anything like that to me! As a matter of fact, I asked if I can select more, if we are still undecided and another staff lady said yes, the girls will help you choose more. It’s sad that because we were Hispanic and the other clients were white they were provided with excellent service, assuming they had money and we didn’t, and we’re giving different treatment. I’m certain they wouldn’t ask their girls behind their backs if they are going to come back and then give them the ultimatum. That would be bad business! They really cornered my niece and took advantage of her to send us on our way because it was around closing time and they felt we were a waist of their time. This was sad all around! It almost reminded me of the movie Pretty Woman, but the representatives were hispanic. I read the above reviews and still went despite of that, but I can assure you, their customer service is a 0! And the whole experience should be pleasant not something like this. The woman are ugly and bitter and jealous and don’t care in the world about helping you create a great memory for an important day in our young woman’s lives. I bet they would have a high volume of clients if their customer service was...
Read moreFantastic Experience!! Went to Peaches to purchase my daughter's prom dress with a bit of hesitancy because of the negative reviews. Our experience was seamless. Arrived at 12:05 pm on a Friday(literally 5 minutes after they opened) and was number 26 in line. Lots of people, but also a lot of staff to help assist. They greeted me right away at the door and gave me instructions to pick out 3 dresses from the floor to try on(handed to sales associate as you pick them out), then register, then get your favorites list printed out to have with you when you head back to the fitting room. Creating a favorites list is a very important step that you must do ahead of time-requires going to the website and choosing dresses that are your "favorite" so they understand your style. This allows the sales associates to narrow down the selection so you are not overwhelmed and get you a dress you love. We waited about 15 minutes before we were called back to start trying on dresses. The staff was super helpful, my daughter never felt any pressure to make a rushed decision, they had good suggestions, listened to what my daughter liked and she ended up finding the perfect dress. She then found the perfect shoes and perfect jewelry there too! The process is very regimented with very specific rules/instructions to ensure efficiency and protection of their merchandise. It gave me peace of mind knowing that the dress we purchased was handled only very carefully by attentive staff and not thrown around by careless teenagers. I think the complainers and negative comments come from people who don't want to follow rules. This is a business, they are trying to provide you with an efficient experience with quality merchandise. They have a huge amount of inventory they have to keep track of and protected so that people will want to buy it. No one wants a dress that has been on the dressing floor, the sequins are falling off or the zipper is stretched out. I have seen that at most other stores which offer prom dresses because it is a free for all. The total process took 1 1/2 hours. There were 4 of us total-3 watching and 1 trying on and we all said we loved the experience and would go back again! A huge thanks to the "mom" who works in the shoe department and has since the day Peaches opened and to her daughter who works in the fitting area. The mom's attention to the detail with the shoes, jewelry and minor alterations needed was so sweet. Highly...
Read moreAfter reading the reviews, I was very skeptical about taking my daughter to Peaches. However, we had already planned a weekend to visit Chicago and to go to Peaches. So since we were there we decided to follow through and go. And I am so glad we did. I just want to say that our experience was absolutely phenomenal!! From the moment we walked in until the moment we left there was always staff members there helping us, pointing us in the right direction (if you have never been there before it can be a little confusing and crazy at first). Every single staff member was a delight and always willing to help. Once we got in our fitting room the staff continued to be absolutely amazing (thanks Kinga and Agnes). They really took their time trying to find out what my daughter liked and disliked about a certain dress...they were doing this so they could figure out what she liked and didn't like in a dress...from this information they would go back into the back of the store and bring up other dresses (ones that were not on the actual sales floor) that they thought she may like and had her try it on. We finally narrowed it down to one that she tried on at Peaches and one that she had tried on the day before at a different store. We never felt pressured while discussing this and trying to make our decision. In the midst of this, the owner came and had a different girl that wanted to try on the dress that my daughter had on her body. Kinga (sales clerk) said it was possible that we would be buying it. I told the owner we would be making the decision in the next couple of minutes (because it was time to actually make the decision and move on!!)...the owner assured me there was no rush and to take all the time we needed!! All of this is coming from a mom who isn't necessarily into all of this kind of stuff, but we had an absolute blast and it was just a fun experience overall from beginning to end! Yes, the dresses were expensive, but from all the looking we had done the day before in Chicago, I could clearly tell a difference with the quality...and the variety and plethora of dresses was amazing!! Fun, fun trip...this was something I was (somewhat) dreading, but thanks to Kinga (and all of the staff) instead I absolutely loved my day with my daughter at Peaches!! And my daughter loves...
