Manolo's Tamales — Restaurant in Lake Township

Very tasty Tamales 👍 these are my favorite and i drive 45 minutes to get them. Unfortunately the owner or whoever makes these Tamales are not putting 100% interest like they did when they had a place on Kedzie, one of the first ones. Now, these Tamales are so tiny, almost like a "slice" of masa that was slapped in the corn leaf. Then when you open the Tamales most of it falls apart or is stuck in between the wrappings, thus becoming a waste of the "masa" and a messy experience, very disappointing. Parking is SO limited, the 6 parking spots must be share with a gas station and 3 more stores. Most likely you will have to wait for a spot or find a spot on a nearby street or go home. Inside does not have a chairs nor tables to even wait for your orders. The atmosphere is little bit uncomfortable, the walls and the floors were dirty. I could've done a better job decorating this "waiting area". But i had to endure these unpleasantness because I knew they were good. For someone who is coming there for the first time, i assured you this new customers will turn back right away And if you add all those hurdles to get these Tamales they will...

Been a customer for years and the last two times i went it was unfortunate that i ran into racist employees! My girlfriend is hispanic and i sometimes get looks from older women over this but the owner of this particular restaurant decided to INSULT and talk about my girlfriend in Spanish. I had no idea until after we left and she told me what they said. do not recommend this place ! They are rude and also forget your order often. I had to come back last time I visited as well because they gave us the wrong food. Very unprofessional location and the food isn’t even worth the price. Better restaurant next door called big als give them your business instead of this racist...

This place has earned 5 stars in the past I always bought dozens of tamales from them but for the past couple of months that I have gone I have gotten nothing but undercooked or dry tamales looks like they dont care anymore if you want better food go to the manolos by midway much better food. Also I hate the fact that when you ask for a drink they clean the cup with that musty rag they have near by it leaves a foul smell on the cup dont know how hygienic that is and I have throw drinks away because the styrofoam cup smells like the rag.
