Nick's Gyros — Restaurant in Lake Township

Stopped in for a late night meal 3-15-2024. First time here. I place an order for a double turkey burger, lettuce, raw onion, pickles mayo and mushrooms. The cashier Ashley read my order back to me and I confirm. When she gives me to total I give her the that’s weird look why is it so high? The turkey burger is $9, the extra patty is $4, and I see not only are mushrooms $5 which I asked for grilled mushrooms and I made sure to say on the burger and grilled but the $5 is for a side order of mushrooms. Additionally I paid $2 extra to add a side of fries. Very expensive for just a $9 burger and fries. I immediately look at my receipt and see that she charged me for a steak burger and I let her know that’s wrong. She immediately apologized and called the manager over and he says they want to return the initial charge to me and charge me again. I told him no that doesn’t make sense just give me the difference in cash. This was a good move by me. Nonetheless I ask for the correct receipt and Ashley tells me no keep the original receipt. I knew this was going to be bad. I got my food from the pick up area and I asked the guys in English and in Spanish this burger has no cheese right. In both English and Spanish he acts like he doesn’t understand no cheese Y sin queso? I get home and open the bag and immediately I see yellow and sure enough my burger has cheese and I am allergic. I understand honest mistakes but there were too many signs for me to walk away before I accepted this food and I didn’t pay attention to them. I called back to inform them of this and no one answer the phone from 11:54-midnight. Taking this burger back for a full refund tomorrow.

Update: returned the very next day. The woman at the counter issued me a refund for the everything minus the fries which they charge an extra $2 for plus tax. Don’t worry my gas and my time are free to you but not to me so I’ll make sure to do what I can to make sure your establishment doesn’t do this to...

I ordered through DoorDash wouldn’t give me the option to ask for extra gyro sauce. So I called and asked and the lady that answered was extra rude but I heard her ask someone if she could add extra sauce to my plate and she said there’s no way they can do it. I was like there’s no way you can add more sauce? And in her rude tone she said yeah there’s no way since they wouldn’t be able to charge me for it! Wow I just paid 28 dollars in total for a gyros plate and they couldn’t add a little gyro sauce to satisfy a loyal customer?! I wanted to cancel my order but couldn’t since they already charged me for it but this will be the last time I come to, or order from this establishment....

Although it's in what is known as the hood the food is on point. The cashier are nice and respectful. They have a over head screen that displays some of the food they serve. It's no lie the food tastes as good as its shown on the screen. I haven't had a chance to be big around the back ( LoL) and try everything on the menu yet. But I will say this don't skim on those Garlic Fires, they will keep you coming back while lowering your blood pressure blame it on the fries. So if you want a good place in the hood to spend money for a bite to eat and your over by 79th and Ashland stop on in and see for yourself. The atmosphere may not be a looker but the food makes...
