Palermo's of 63rd is a true gem from the past, serving up classic Italian comfort with a chill, nostalgic vibe. Walking in, you can immediately feel the timeless charm of this place, with its cozy, unpretentious atmosphere that makes you want to slow down and enjoy your meal. I ordered the Cheese Ravioli, and let me tell you—it was nothing short of incredible. Each ravioli was generously stuffed with velvety, creamy cheese that oozed with every bite, creating this perfect, rich texture. The pasta itself was cooked to perfection—soft and tender with just the right amount of bite, making each forkful a delightful experience. The real magic, though, was in the sauce. It had a unique sweetness, almost like a slow-cooked, tomato-rich marinara that had been simmering for hours, deepening in flavor. The slight sweetness of the sauce paired with the creamy, savory cheese filling was an irresistible combination, creating layers of flavor that had me savoring every mouthful. Each bite felt comforting, like a warm hug on a plate, with a flavor profile that was balanced and deeply satisfying. If you're thinking of visiting on a Friday, keep in mind that while it might not be packed for dine-in, it’s a popular night for takeout, so be prepared for a little wait. But trust me, the food is absolutely worth it! This place is a must-visit for anyone craving delicious Italian classics in a laid-back, welcoming environment. I can't wait to go back!

I read some other reviews before posting this. The bad…guys, the Fettuccini Alfredo is tasteless to put it mildly. Honestly, if I only ordered that my review would be lower. I’m begging you, for all the Fettuccini fans out there, change it, please. I would seriously take it off the menu until this crime is resolved. Now the pizza…I ordered a small regular thin crust pepperoni and ham w extra sauce. I’ve seen a lot of bad reviews about your sauce being too sweet. Maybe so, but I found it a bit refreshing. It was different, surprising if you will. It’s possible the sweetness could be brought in a bit. But for my first experience, i’ve never tasted a pizza sauce like this before so I was taken aback. It may not be for everyone, but know before you go. Dont be one of those a-holes that give this place a 1 star because the sauce was too sweet for your liking, when you could have looked up some reviews and been warmed. Service was fine. I ordered delivery to a local hotel and it came quicker than they projected. I want to give it a 4, but seriously, the fettuccine guys, seriously.

We came here after the original restaurant we wanted to eat at was full and didnt wanna go to some tourist trap downtown. You know you've struck gold when you find an old Italian restaurant owned by the same guy since its inception decades ago and he comes out and greets his patrions, thick accent and all! The interior is old and vintage (adds to the charm!) and the walls are full of autographed photos of random and obscure Bears players and celebrities who have dined here through the years. The food is amazing!! So worth driving a half hour out of the way for. He also gave us the bill on a hand written ticket 😂 and gave us free dessert. this is everything I could ever want in a restaurant. This is exactly how it should be done. The one drawback is the price. Be prepared to open your wallet here because it is not cheap. It was 100% worth it to us, but it was the most expensive restaurant we have ever eaten at for 2 people and an appetizier. Totally understand with this economy and all, but something worth noting! Thanks for an amazing meal!!!

Pizza was A' ok, or fine, I just didn't understand the delivery guy's question.

He asked to see my ID to see if it matched my card, I said ok. Then he gave it back, and then asked to see it again so he can write down my personal Identification Driver's Liscence number.

I was like: what are you talking about? Are you serious? I said to him that's going to far and that's my personal information.

The delivery driver then said: those were Frank's rules, and I'm thinking to myself, who's Frank? I eventually did ask him that question.

And then he said it was his boss's name.

He then said: forget about it, you don't have to give it to me.

He also said: that his boss is old school and doesn't know why he wants people's----State ID #'s------ with there------credit card numbers----- it just doesn't make any sense, and that he needs to update the system.

I was like,...ok,' and ....basically surprised on what he just said.

Because before I made the order, I made it clear to the person on the other side of the line: Did my credit card go through? And she said yes.

So that's why I was like, what are you saying?

I clearly did not understand why the delivery driver was asking me for my personal identification number to write down.

I started to think: I do have a Spanish last name, does this have anything to do with my last name being Spanish? Is this guy pulling a fast discriminating joke on me.

My thoughts were just running fast in my mind. I thought to myself, is that what he's trying to do, mess with me? I mean, that's not funny at all, if that was his intent. I did see him slightly laugh.

The whole process of me actually getting my pizza from the delivery driver was just very wierd and strange.

I mean he wanted to write down my personal ID number on what looked like another reciept with my credit card#.

Now I can understand him writing down my card #, and asking to check the name on my ID to see if it matches on the card, which it did,

but asking to write down ones own personal ID# on a receipt, I find awkwardly strange.

I noticed a little hesitation and nervousness in him when he asked that question......*the whole incident was just not normal for me me to witness.

In my whole life... that never happened to me, nor at any other pizza place I ordered from.

This was my first time ordering from Palmero's 🍕, and it might be my last.

P.s the delivery guy was a heavy set guy....

Worst service and experience ever. Was trying it for the first time but never again. Lady who took my order was super rude but I still decided to give it a try since I was told the pasta there was really good and I was looking forward to try it. After waiting for almost 45min we went to pick it up,a man who We believe was the manager asked for an ID when he was about to run my sisters debit card. My sister told him she didn’t had her ID with her and that no one had told her over the phone that we needed one. So he turned around and started screaming at his employee so rudely and you could see the fear on her face which most likely means he mistreats them a lot. He kept yelling at her saying “ I told you that you have to tell people they need an ID whenever they place an order!!” So then he turns and tells my sister well you can go to an ATM and get cash for your order but just so you know we close at 8:30! So my sister tells him “but is 8:30 already” and he so rudely tells her well that’s not my problem you are not getting your order then. So we had to leave with no food after waiting so long. Almost all the places were closed already to order so now my family was left with no dinner thanks to this Rude man who doesn’t know how to treat his staff and his customers. It wasn’t a $15 or $20 meal I was paying for it was over $70 so we dont understand how he let that order just go to waste instead of just taking our payment. Never again will I be ordering from there. No need to yell at his customers if his staff didn’t tell us about the ID both times we spoke on the phone. And definitely no need to mistreat an employee infront of...
