Ordered takeout from Cumin Restaurant after reading the glowing reviews here. For the most part I enjoyed the food! I ordered chicken momos, chicken biryani with raita, and samosas.

The good: everything that I ordered tasted extremely fresh, with high-quality ingredients and care in preparation. The biryani was so full of flavor and was some of the best I've tried in Chicago. I was expecting to receive just one samosa but they sent me two! The momos were excellent as well, and the highlight for me. I was really impressed by the overall quality and attention to detail.

Areas to improve: I found the dishes I ordered to be a little too spicy for me. It felt spicier than other Indian restaurants I've tried in Chicago. I'm glad I ordered the raita, which definitely helped. Also, while eating the biryani, I found a few large pieces of star anise or cinnamon mixed in. These give flavor to the biryani but aren't meant to be eaten; I'm not sure if the restaurant missed these pieces, or if I was supposed to remove them before eating. Accidentally taking a bite of these was unfortunately not pleasant.

If you’re looking for the best Indian food you’ve ever had, look no further than Cumin. This restaurant is truly exceptional in every way! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm, attentive service that makes you feel like a valued guest.

We’ve had the pleasure of both dining in and ordering takeout from Cumin, and every experience has been flawless. The food is beyond incredible—everything we’ve tried has been bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked.

The Chicken Madras was rich, tender, and my fiancés favorite, while the Palak Paneer had the perfect balance of creamy spinach and tender paneer (my personal fav). The Lamb Samosas were crispy and packed with savory goodness, and their naan is out of this world. We tried the Garlic, Onion, and Sweet Naan, and each one was a revelation.

Cumin has set the standard for Indian cuisine in my book, and I can’t recommend it enough. Whether you’re dining in or taking it home, you’re guaranteed an exceptional meal. Five stars...

I have nothing, but good things to say about this restaurant!

The food was all amazing…a large group of us went and ordered multiple dishes to try and share. All of them were superb in both taste and presentation. We ordered everything “spicy” and it may have still needed a little extra hit sauce for my tastes, but “spicy” is a very subjective word, so I was not disappointed, just an FYI.

The decor was very modern, yet relaxed. It felt a bit upscale while still being comfortable enough to wear sneakers and jeans.
