Everything we ordered here was tasty and the service was friendly and attentive. The staff really seem to care about the food and have been helpful with suggestions. I’ve now been back to try more dishes and they continue to impress. This place feels kind of special, I love a place that seems to have heart and I think this is one of those places.
My favorites are the butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, the kashmiri pulav, and the gobi manchurian. The kashmiri pulav has a really nice savory sweetness to it. The butter chicken and chicken tikka masala are just great versions of these dishes that are so rich and creamy I just want to keep eating them. The gobi manchurian (fried cauliflower with a sweet nan spicy sauce) is extraordinary. One of the best cauliflower dishes I’ve ever had.
I’d also highly recommend trying the dosa. I’ve tried the karam + ghee dosa and it was very very good. The dosa bread is massive and is wonderfully crunchy and bready. The items to dip in were also all very tasty (I don’t remember them all).
We also tried the onion bhajee, pav bhaji, chicken korma, and the gulab jamun, which were all...
Read moreStill trying to find a solid Indian place in the city and with a strong craving I figured this relatively new spot would be worth the try. My friend and I did pickup and got the butter chicken dinner (comes with two veggie samosas), lamb vindaloo, garlic naan, and an aloo paratha. All of that only costs about $50 and they have a $10 off special. While the food was a little soggy, I put that on us for the time it took for us to eat.
Starting with the veggie samosas, they were a good size, stuffed to the brim and a very tasty filling. This was my favorite thing. The aloo paratha wasn’t for me while the garlic naan had a good amount of garlic on top and was half fluffy and half crispy. Both curries were very disappointing. The meats were cooked nicely but the gravies were supper watery and bland. The distinct flavors of a butter chicken and vindaloo were no where to be found. While the price was nice and there was plenty of food, the flavors weren’t there. With that being said, I will continue to be on the quest to find my go to...
Read moreVery flavorful Indian food in a comfy diner setting.
Noticed Rangoli opened a few months back so wandered over for lunch on Sunday with my daughter and we were very happy.
Very tasty food with savory, complex flavors. She ordered the fish curry: deep complex flavors and great, well cook chunks of fish. I tried the chicken vindaloo (received the expected “this is hot” confirmation from the server): good level of spicy and flavor with lots of chicken in the bowl despite initial appearances! We shared garlic naan (good) and onion bhajee (amazing!) and she really liked the lassi. Portion size was large - we brought home decent amount of left-overs.
Service was fine and polite - maybe could have been a little more engaging? Food was delivered quickly
Surroundings are like a diner with cushions, plants and Indian-themed art to add a comfy vibe.
Having enjoyed all the food and seeing the large menu, definitely planning to be back and sample more (although another curry and onion bhajee will likely be...
