On Thursday the 21st of August, I stopped by to get a coffee. I ordered it when i pulled up to the window, I was going to be handed the wrong order. I told the attendant, an older man, that that wasn't what I had ordered. He asked me to wait. 5 minutes pass and no coffee. The coffee comes out and it's an iced cold brew black, not what I ordered. I had the receipt and showed him that I paid for what ever else I wanted in my coffee. I was barely going to make it on time to an appointment, so I told them to cancel and give me a refund. The guy refused, said he could fix my coffee faster than give me a refund. I gave him another chance, and he gave me the same dark ass coffee with a smidge of creamer and probably not any caramel as I had initially paid for. I expressed that I couldn't wait now, for neither coffee nor a refund and I left. I had 10 minutes to get to school, and I was upset about the coffee still, and thought "let me call the manager". Let me clarify, this hasn't been the first occurrence. The employees (not all, i am unfamiliar with names so it would be unfair to generalize, but those who have "helped" me before) at this location remember you when you let them know that your order is incorrect. The attitude there after is horrendous(my personal experience). So I call, and ask to speak to the manager. It was the same guy that was at the window 🤦🏽♀️ I brought to his attention what had occurred and when I was talking there was only an "uhu" literally after every word. As if he was slapping my words away with no care. I said "I've come to the conclusion that you are the same person that was at the window and that you do not care about the customer's experience there. I told you my coffee was wrong and asked for a refund, you refused and said you could fix it and didn't. I call to let the manager know and it's you. The way you disregard the customer's wants and refuse to listen is what has made up my mind about this location. I will not be coming back here. An unprofessional place were employees are arguing at the window, needs to be reassessed." I was offered my money back and a free coffee. The way this encounter made me feel, costs more than just my money back and coffee. Some may just say "it's just coffee", others will agree with me, that it isn't...
Read moreWe’ve been coming here for over four years we live a few blocks away. Today I went to pick up my son’s $50 bday cake and buy some cake candles. My son had to go the bathroom and couldn’t hold it til we got home, however he forgot his mask. He has forgotten it before here and just has put his shirt above his nose and it has been totally fine with everyone else in there this entire two years. This time he tied his hoodie up over his nose before we went in. This was apparently not fine today to the new boy working. The teenage boy with glasses behind the counter kicked my 12 year old son out of the place in the cold while he had to go the bathroom. He then proceeded to get an attitude with me when I questioned him about that. Considering the mask I was wearing is made from the same material my son had tied up over his nose and the fact that the other ppl that work there have never kicked him out I was furious that this kid told my child to leave the store without me when I hadn’t even completed my transaction. He then continued with a very condescending and dismissive attitude towards me only infuriating me more. Not to mention the countless times I have been in here and the actual employees are running around with their mask under their noses. I guess part of their new training manual is “how to endanger children and alienate the neighborhood you’re in”. If anything had happened to my child I would be holding this place accountable...
Read moreThis particular Dunkin' Donuts at 1743 W Lawrence Ave just might be my favorite out of the whole city. This is probably due in no small part to the fact that it is very near my train station and so provides me, on many a weekday morning, with a much needed caffeine kick. (Perhaps with a side of bacon, egg, and cheese bagel.) But seriously, you know how the coffee tastes a little different at every DD location? Well this DD's brew is spot on. I don't know if it's filtered water, or descaled pots - maybe it's just fresher because of high traffic - whatever it is, it's magic. The staff also couldn't be nicer, and I don't think they've ever gotten an order wrong (touch wood). They also don't mind if you hang out with your computer for a bit. Or 2 or 3 bits. So coffee, tea, doughnut, bagel, ice cream - whatever your poison, stop in at this DD and they'll fix you right up. (And don't forget...
