Lindo is a very solid late night food option and while I wasn't particularly "blown away", I thoroughly enjoyed everything I ordered.
The Al Pastor tacos were flavorful although limes were not included as they often are. The chicken in my burrito de pollo was well seasoned and had a great texture, although the burrito itself felt a bit smaller than expected. Everything was properly juicy, neither too greasy nor too dry. Where the verde and rojo salsas lacked in heat they made up in flavor.
The atmosphere is standard taco shop and the staff was extremely efficient, matter of fact and nice
Overall the service was great, the food was fresh and tasty. If you come I'd bring cash as there is a fee for using card (I understand card processing fees but this is a bit silly). There are a lot of options for Mexican cuisine in this area and Lindo didn't necessarily blaze past the competition but I'd challenge you to find a better spot for late night eats in Lincoln Square/ Albany Park. I'll definitely be returning to Lindo Guadalajara when I need some good fresh food late...
Read moreChicago has some of the best Mexican food I've had so far, along with certain parts of the Pinellas County area in Florida and Denver. Unfortunately, because I've had so much, this just didn't make the cut. I couldn't even enjoy the chips they brought out because both of us could tell they were really old and the salsa tasted like there was something wrong with it.
I understand it was late, but we got some simple orders. The flautas were really hard, the refried beans cold and parts my boyfriend's order tasted good, but it was just kind of matted down on the plate. The gordita was cooked well on the inside (mushrooms and green peppers), but the dough wasn't good. He also ordered a sopa and that was the best item on the plate.
Uptown, Chicago doesn't have any other food open late night (it was around 10 or 11 PM). Maybe this place is completely different during the day, but there is too much good food to go around Chicago, particularly Mexican food, to waste your...
Read moreI came in on NYE with a group of friends and, unfortunately, experienced blatant racism and discrimination. Long story short, I was the only Black person in my group and was ignored for 45+ mins by the staff and never had my order taken at the front. My entire group was served and received their food at their 2 tables in a timely manner, all while I was standing there still waiting to order. Another Black man (the only other Black person in the establishment) was outwardly asking for us to be helped, and I watched the staff ignore us both. I watched them move around us and refuse to make eye contact and also watched the kitchen staff (semi-open kitchen concept) look and laugh at him as he was asking for literally anyone working there to help him order 3 tacos. I, obviously, left (he left, too, without food) and won’t ever go back and would advise any Black person to be cautious if you choose to spend your money here. -100000/10...
