This McDonalds has got to be one of the worst locations I have been to in the city. I have given this location so many chances and typically give them the benefit of the doubt bc the fast food industry does look stressful and working with the general public takes lots of patience. The store manager at this location should not be in this industry bc customer service isn't something she can do. I have had numerous items forgotten in my order multiple times. I know they are busy and I understand if it happens once or twice, but it's happened almost every time I've ordered something from here. I ve called to let them know that they forgot items and each time I am talked down to. I've even had the store just pick up and hang up my call before. Seriously who does this , and I wouldn't be so mad if the item they forgot was someone's whole dinner, and I got charged for it. So I stopped complaining and decided just to not go to this location. Well covid hit, and this location is literally a 2 min walk for me to get to. I m not sure why, but this location only serves drive thru after 8 pm. So don't expect service unless you have a car. If you ordered through their mobile app and placed a pick up order, dont expect to get it bc they will not bring it to the door for you. They will charge you for the whole order and refund it, but don't expect to see your refund for 5-7 business days. When you call to pick up they are rude to you and when asked how to cancel the order they say they don't know anything about the mobile app and to figure if out ourselves. I will not step foot in this location bc when I order I cannot count on it to be correct. Also, closing so early for pick up orders inside doesn't make sense. Other locations don't close this early. Also, if you have the staff there to serve the drive through, shouldn't they be able to serve the inside pickup counter as well. This location is turning away so much business these days and it's hard to understand why. I will not return to this location. Rude staff, inconsistent hours, messed up orders, staff not knowledgeable on companies newest technology, and the customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. I usually don't write bad reviews but something should be done bc the leadership and staff at this location needs to be retrained...
Read moreEarly yesterday morning, I visited the McDonalds located on 5614 N Clark Street Chicago, IL. Upon pulling up to the drive thru, we were notified by the cashier that McDonalds was accepting "cash only". We agreed to pay cash and then proceeded to place our order. Upon checking the bags we notified the cashier that we were missing a large sprite and sweet tea as well as a 20 piece nugget. The cashier gave us the sprite and sweet tea, but claimed that we did not order a 20 piece nugget. We asked if we could get a receipt to check if we were charged for a 20 piece nugget and she claimed that we could not get a receipt because the systems were down. At that point, I asked to speak to the manager, the cashier then responded several times that "its no point because my manager is just going to tell you the same thing". Once the manager arrived, I asked for his name. His response was that "per McDonald's standards that he doesn't have to legally give his name". I then proceeded to explain the situation and that we do not have a receipt to prove that we ordered the 20 piece nugget. At that point, the manager said that he could settle the issue by preparing a 20 piece nugget and walked away from the 2nd drive thru window. A few minutes later he arrived without nuggets saying that "his cashier told him that we did not order nuggets". I told him not to worry about it and that we would be contacting corporate, he responded by saying "we are a franchise, not corporate, therefore we do not deal with corporate complaints". Honestly speaking, this was the worst customer service experience that I have had in my life, but instead of blaming McDonalds (number one fast food chain in the world). I am just going to blame these two individuals because their attitudes were disgusting and I am sure if they continue to treat customers like this that the 5614 location's profits are sure to decline. Hopefully, they can get better training...
Read moreThe food is mediocre at best so I usually dodge this place, unless I'm in a pinch. I always order on the app and go through the drive through to pick it up. THE WEIRDEST THING HAPPENED TO ME. I was the only person in the drive through when I pulled up to the speaker. I gave my pick-up number and was told to pull up to the second window. Now, I know some McDonald's have strict rules about stopping at the first window, regardless of what they say. So, I pulled up to the first window and waited about a minute before pulling up to the second window because I wasn't being acknowledged. Afterall, I was told to go to the second window. When I got to the second window, the worker read off what she thought my order was and I said "No, that's not my order. I ordered online and my pickup number is X and I ordered X". I was asked if I gave my order number at the first window. I said "No, I gave them my order number at the speaker and I was told to go to the second window". She said "Well, we can't get you your order unless you give your pick up number at the first window." I reiterated that I gave my order number at the speaker. She then told me I HAD to go back to the first window and give my order number there. She wanted me to REVERSE MY CAR in the drive thru to do this. I sat frozen for a minute because this was completely ridiculous and eventually a car pulled up to the window behind me so I couldn't reverse without colliding with them. After a few minutes, she came back to the window and, of course, I got my order which was in their system because I gave my order number at the speaker. It was super WEIRD and felt like the worker was on a power trip to be honest. I could have been in a dangerous situation if I had listened and gone in reverse as stated by the employee. Weird,...
