Little Bad Wolf has been my favorite restaurant in Andersonville for years. It where I take friends visiting and new friends a like as we explore my neighborhood. The food had always been fantastic, the drinks are divine. Unfortunately, I will have serious reservations about going back. I entered the restaurant on a beautiful 80 degree Saturday around 5. The restaurant was buzzing, but that's typical and something I love. I can recognize busy waitstaff and I empathesize. However, I can't empathesize with blatant apathy and borderline rudeness. I walked in on this busy Saturday. A hostess walked up to the podium and stared at me. I saw her approaching like she was too busy to be bothered. She had a peeved look on her face. She didn't say anything at first which was strange so I said hello and then with a disgusting condescending look on her face, didn't say hello. She said, you on the list? I asked her to repeat herself and she said, do you have reservations with a raised eyebrow? I didn't know reservations were accepted here so I said no and then another still apathetic hostess appeared and the original hostess walked away. The new hostess said murmured something and again, in a crowded busy restaurant asked her to speak again as politely as I could because I was confused why the hostess lacked any basic customer service skills and the new hostess said we could sit at shared seating and I said we were interested in a table and she annoyingly said it would be 30-45 mins. I turned to my partner and asked him, and when he saw how the hostesses had interacted with me, he said no. He said their apathy bordered on hostility, like I was bothering them. I have lived in this neighborhood for a decade. I am a patron at Andersonville business because of the kindness, warmth and how accepted as a person of color I feel in this area. I walked down the street to Replay, was delighted that their team still had the kindness to look me in the eye and treat me...
Read moreI have been wanting to come to this place for so long after all the hype I have heard around it. It did not disappoint. From the outside, it’s very discreet and you enter and the atmosphere hits you right away. It’s a small, cozy restaurant filled with life and style. From the wolf inspired paintings, to the various of lovely designed lights, it really sets the tone. We came on a thursday night around 6 and we were seated for two after 15 minutes. We started with some drinks and they have a wide menu of options, I got the old fashioned manhattan and the whiskey was good. For appetizers we got the charcuterie board and it is more than enough for two (we still ate it all because we were starving). All the ingredients on the board are of high quality, I especially loved the prosciutto and marcona almonds. It was such a good price for everything it had. Then we split the Wolf burger and damn that thing is big ! the burger was cooked to medium to our liking, and was so flavorful. All the ingredients tasted fresh and brought the burger together. It came with fries with a wonderful cheese sauce. I also got the steak bao bun, and the pickled carrots, sauce and steak made for a solid combo. the bun and steak melted in my mouth. What we got was more than enough food but it was so good we didn’t have leftovers. The service was fabulous all around, from when we waited at the bar to our dining experience. The waitress was so kind and understanding to our allergies and double checked to make sure everything we got was okay. Overall it was such a pleasant experience for my birthday dinner! I would love to come back to try more another time !
side note - whoever was playing music, loved the picks! kaytranada and deep house was fitting for this...
Read moreHere’s what you need to know: the food is 3 stars quality/flavor. the burger is disappointingly. Wry overrated. But the service and ambiance (great bourbon and beer list too) makes we want to give a 4 star rating. Burgers run about $25 but very large portions and can be shared so a decent value.
the service was INCREDIBLE by Amanda. She really took care of our family and anticipated and recommended good items for first timers like us.
Let’s talk burger: we order 2 of the 3 burger offerings: the little which is 3 sliders, and the wild which is a giant burger with 3 beef patties, bacon, a sunny side egg and fried onion straws. Surprisingly the beef patties had little creative seasoning , no smokiness, nothing memorable at all, and were way over salted. The bun was cut too thick of top and the bottom had become paper thin with the grease, so the proportions were all wrong. The shoestring fries that it came with were enjoyable but totally unmemorable. The little burger (sliders) were in fact a bit tastier than the wolf but also way over salted so didn’t make for a very enjoyable flavor profile. The cheese on the burgers was just average tasting American sliced cheese. Their house sauce is just OK.
The mac n cheese upgrade we paid for as a side for one of the burgers was cheesy and good enough with a few bacon bits but ultimately nothing to write home about.
The chopped salad we ordered was HUGE but the greens were Willy and brown, and reflective of cheap bagged food service salad mix. The dressing was OK.
However I’m still giving a fourth star because of the service and ambiance which was very good.
