Went after the gym, got the taco dinner with two steak and one chicken with double rice no beans and a Jamaica margarita. Also got a side of chunky guacamole. $38 for everything. Pros: - Tacos were very good and they give you a lot of meat. They are not stingy at all with the toppings either. I preferred the steak over the chicken. - Good spicy red salsa, a lot of places these days don’t sell spicy salsas anymore. There is a war on spicy foods:broken_heart: - Marg was very good and cheap ($10) for how big it was. I didn’t know they sold liquor and was surprised to see it on the menu. - Guac was good, seasoned and not too much lime or salt. - Good service, the two women ran that place like the navy and were very kind! Cons: - Chicken taco is ehh, okay. I feel like a lot of Mexican spots chicken tends to be dry. Maybe that is how it is traditionally. I’m not Mexican so please correct me if I’m wrong. The chicken was seasoned though so it made up for it a little. - Horrible rice, just not seasoned at all. Makes me sad when Mexican spots have bad rice. Next time I’ll just get fries or nothing at all. - Marg wasn’t strong. But for $10 I never expected it to be. I know they have stronger drinks on the menu so next time I will try something else. - It is cold in there, but I also sat by the window so if you get easily cold, don’t make the same mistake as me. Overall I will be back. I know they have a $2 taco deal for the fish, chicken, carnitas and veggie tacos on Tuesday and Thursday. But I really like their steak so I may have to become a regular.

We walked into this place and were surprised to find some of our other team members dining in there for lunch too! I have been here on three occasions and have never been disappointed. The last time five out of the six of us ordered the carne asada torta - the fan-favorite of the five of us. They dice up the carne asada into perfectly tiny bites to help you black out and inhale the torta without problems or interruptions. This explains why I don't have a picture of this delectable sandwich because it was gone in a flash. SoOoOo delicious and evenly balanced. It was a little of a mess, but I regret nothing. We typically have a group of six and can get seated without a problem during lunchtime during the week. They decorate during the holidays, enhancing our experience and giving it a local feel. My other fan favorites to order are the Chilaquiles con carne and tacos. The $2 Taco Tuesday special is almost too good, that mere humans do not deserve food this good for so affordably. Primos, we are not worthy of your greatness!

This place to me is the very best place to go eat tacos. I live about 45 minutes from there, but i make the trip as often as i can cause they are that good. The portions are very generous. The salsas are really good The waitress is very nice and fast at taking care of everyone, sometimes even El Primo waiters for you when needed. I was disappointed to know that those delicious spicy chips and beans are no longer provided while you wait, but I understand, times are hard. The owner I've known always as Primo. He always and i mean always stops what he's doing to greet and say bye to EVERY SINGLE one of his customers. He understands that simplicity goes a long way if you do it from the heart. That alone makes me want to keep coming back. Keep up the good work, and ill see you soon!!

Big, nice and tasty tacos. Staff/ service intimidating. The cooks are more worried to see who walks in the door to maintain their cooking duty to execute. They like to stare. No water brought to the table after 10 minutes. Started choking on chips and had to try and get attention to get a drink. The ice is under the register in a cooler and is left open for whatever wants to go in there, will. It had a hint taste of woman fragrance to it too. It was odd because when I ordered a water I got a bad vibe from the servers body language. Side of Guacamole was nice and fresh, served with 2 chips..?? The chips at table were great but after waiting 10 minutes to get any sort of service (staring aimlessly at TV) I became Impatient and went in line with my guacamole to try and get the check and chips (since the table chips were practically gone and they didn’t bother bringing me one for the guacamole). Asking for the chips, the server seemed hesitant and set a bag of chips aside (side of guacamole and chips $7.50) and went in back and stuffed chips in the bag with her hand. I was thinking why didn’t she simply give me the bag that was sitting by us to begin with. Getting home now, it seems these chips are greasier as could possible be with a hint of peanut butter to them. Super shiny grease and roasted brown without salt. This place blows. Many places to go in the...

I must say competition in Chicago is tough for the best taco. At this location I think it is a little tougher, as they have another Spanish restaurant steps away. So the question here is: on this block, who has the best taco? Primo Chucki's or the Spanish restaurant El Nuevo Taco Loco that is steps away? I tasked myself to try them both and here is what I think. First of all tacos are hard to get wrong, both were good but there were differences, Primo Chucki's was made with lettuce and tomato, not what I was expecting. To me that seemed a little less traditional because tacos usually have cilantro and onions. As for El Nuevo Taco Loco this place had the traditional taco I was expecting. Visually I prefer Nuevo Taco Loco. As far as taste, I believe the traditional taco taste best so I choose Nuevo Taco Loco on that as well. The photo attached to this review is the tacos from both restaurants, on the left Primo Chucki's, on the right El Nuevo Taco Loco.

As for the location it is small but cozy and built for fast service. They do have tables with entertainment on TV going. The staff is friendly and instantly reminds you that you are about to eat some authentic deliciousness. I recommend this place to family...
