My family and I have been customers for years. Of course there has been a few small issues, errors happen everywhere but nothing big..until today. I ordered manicotti with alfredo instead of red sauce because of allergies. I was told there would be an upcharge, ok fine it is what it is. I was also told the soup or salad option with dinner is only salad, no soup.. another ok fine, it is what it is. The food arrived and looked great. In the middle of the first bite I realized it was insanely salty, not just slightly uncomfortable too salty but an instant this isn't right as if someone spilled an entire salt shaker in the food. I stopped chewing and spit it out. I mixed the sauce together thinking it just wasn't blended and took another baby bite but nope, as a last try I added more cheese hoping that would help balance it out but sadly it didn't help. Eventually the waitress came and I told her the food was incredibly salty and I was unable to eat it. I pointed to the full plate showing her it uneaten except the three trys I gave it. She said "Hopefully next time you'll like what you order better than what you got today." I said I'd appreciate you removing it from my bill or something different, her response was " I'm sorry it wasn't what you were expecting." And she walked away. She came back several minutes later with a box for my husband's food and asked me if I wanted a box too. Again I explained the situation and it wasn't edible, she replied.."so do you want a box?" She left and came back with a box and the check. $45 and said "again, I'm sorry it wasn't what you were expecting". I said I expected something edible or a solution. We never saw her again. We paid the full bill leaving the food on the table. I left our date night hungry, very frustrated and...
Read moreordered the stuffed shells, was disappointed in the portion size well as the taste (shells were smaller than expected, medium instead of the typical jumbo shells I expected with this dish and it seemed like the ricotta filling had garlic in it, ive never experienced that with stuffed shells; it was not what i was expecting and was not as good as i hoped it would be, maybe to someone else theyd be good but it just wasnt what i was looking for), overall pretty disappointed with the main course. the italian wedding soup was delicious, It sort of reminded me of an italian version of chicken noodle soup with pieces of meatballs instead of chicken. the bread that came with it had had a very nice texture but the taste was lacking and I had to request butter to make it more palatable. I paid about $15 for the shells and soup; honestly I think it should have been maybe $10 for the size I got. also ordered the blue raspberry popsicle drink ($6) which was pretty good if you like sweet drinks and tasted very reminiscent of an actual popsicle. was hoping to try some of their dessert but the main course threw me off so i ended up just leaving without it. overall I might try this place again but definitely would be ordering a different main course, next time i will ask for recommendations and descriptions from the staff/check...
Read moreThis is a love letter to Galati's. Galati's catered our wedding.
Christina was our main point of contact. From start to finish she made everything seamless. She made wonderful suggestions for our menu. The prices were incredible, especially for the quality and quantity of the food.
Our wedding menu main courses: Pesto w/ Gnocchi & Grilled Chicken (crowd favorite) Shrimp alla Diavolo w/ Linguini Baked Mostaccioli Tiramisu (instead of wedding cake, again, crowd favorite)
I cannot stress this enough: Everyday since our wedding, we have had people comment to us about how incredible the food was. The Tiramisu and the Pesto w/ Gnocchi & Grilled Chicken STOLE. THE. SHOW.
We will be returning for many date nights in the future, not only to taste the same delicious dishes from our wedding night to reminisce but to support this incredible restaurant. This is a hidden diamond that you do not want to miss out on.
Support local. Galati's is incredible.
Our wedding was at Lehmann Park & our reception was next door at The Barrel Room @ Harbor Brewing Company (Check out my review there for another glowing...
