Visited last night for Cinco de Mayo and spent $75 on food. I specifically asked for the chicken tenders and fries with seasoning to come out first since we were dining outside on the patio. Instead, all of our food came out packaged to-go. When we told the staff our order was “for here,” the woman working looked visibly annoyed and said, “I’ll get you a tray.” Then she proceeded to take the next customers’ orders before helping us. When she finally brought the tray, she just handed it to us and walked off—leaving us to unpack and set everything up ourselves.
Trying to organize all of that food outside was frustrating, especially considering how much we spent. In the process, the chips spilled. When we politely asked for a replacement, she refused and said we’d have to pay $3 for more. The fries also came out plain, with no seasoning, even though we had requested it. When we pointed that out, she insisted the seasoning was already on there—basically accusing us of lying. We brought the fries back to show her, and she still prioritized the next customer in line before finally giving us the seasoning we asked for in the first place.
When I asked for the manager, I was told the owner (a different, very polite woman who originally took our order) had already left for the night. Unfortunately, the rude employee we dealt with left a terrible impression. After spending $75 at a small taco stand, we expected decent service—not to be treated like an inconvenience.
We will not be returning. Save your money and go to one of the many other taco spots that actually appreciate...
Read moreDelicious food that's full of flavor, La Placita is a standout Mexican restaurant among the many Mexican restaurants in Lake Worth. Currently located in a cute green difficult to miss stand alone building off of Dixie Highway in the heart of Lake Worth, La Placita has phenomenal Mexican food with reasonable prices. My goto is the barbacoa quesadilla. The barbacoa (shredded beef) is always cooked to perfection, juicy & dripping with flavor! You can put it on tacos, burritos, quesadilla you name it..so tasty that you'll fall in love with it immediately! Other favorites to try are the ground beef tostada, & I can't leave out how delicious the chunky guacamole and crispy chips are! I am not a big spicy person, so if you are like me, its good to know they don't slather the meals with jalapeños or habanero sauces. But if you do like the spice, you can put it on yourself! They have 2 hot sauces that are included with your meal separately. FYI, the green sauce is way hotter than the red sauce (so I'm told..) The only bummer is that they dont deliver. I still would give them 5 stars for the great customer service & never messing up my orders. Still an absolute must try restaurant if you are...
