This was the second time that my boyfriend and I have gone to Three B's...never again. The first time our service felt nonexistent; we were a party of four and it took almost three hours from start to finish due to the slow service. Staff was very nice, but there should be more staff working during busy times. Especially during the evening/dinner rush. The food also was fairly bland compared to what it's being charged for. The second time my boyfriend and I went was just yesterday, on Valentine's Day for dinner. We had a 7:00pm reservation and it was busy when we arrived on time. Again, not much staff and I had to ask for our waitress twice. Our appetizer was literally premade frozen food, like it was taken out of a box purchased from the frozen section of the grocery store, barley warmed up and served half frozen. We ordered rice balls...NOT what we received. I wish I took a picture of the food, but this was the menus description: Tuscan Arancini. A trio of Arborio rice balls stuffed with provolone and lightly breaded topped with melted Mozzarella served with a tomato dipping sauce. What we ended up with were cold processed breaded dough balls, barely any rice and the rice I was able to make out was mushed up. The center had a thumb sized frozen piece of cheese - ice was still around the chunk. It was topped off with processed yellow cheese - when the description says tomatoe sauce and Mozzarella cheese (since when did Mozzarella cheese identify as yellow and coagulate in liquid form?), and it was all resting on a bed of mashed potatoes. How is that dish considered rice balls and WHY was it served on mashed poatoes?? We had it sent back. So much for enjoying an appetizer...which only a bite was taken out of. We were pretty hungry by the time our entrees came out, for we were already there for about an hour with not having a single thing to eat. My dinner was personally fine. I had ordered the 3 Garlic Ranch Steak Tacos. A bit messy and chewy, but overall tasty and seasoned well. My boyfriend had ordered a Pepperoni pizza....again, premade frozen pizza picked up from the grocery store. It was cold, thin, and looked gross. It's fairly on the smaller size as well, but the price is definitely not. He ate about half of it because he was hungry, then left the rest behind. We were very upset and honestly should have asked for the manager. How can you serve a meal like that, especially on Valentine's Day. That is literally the one holiday that booms through the...
Read moreWe arrived for dinner last evening 30-Jun-2022 at 8:15. We entered the door and waited at the host/hostess station for about 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged us (meanwhile staff was walking all around). Just to set the stage, the place was not busy. We were finally seated, we reviewed the menus and waited for someone to take our order. Now after a lengthy wait and NO ONE even asking if we cared for a drink, I asked a waiter if someone was going to take our order, or if we were going to be ignored the rest of the night. The waiter surprised asked your server hasn't come over?? When I replied no, he said he was going to get her. After a brief few minutes he returned saying he would take our table. We placed our drink and food order at the same time. For dinner-we orded the salad off the specials menu- composed of was Watermelon with mint, feta cheese balsamic glaze, and two New England clam chowder. The soups had a good taste but were served Luke warm at best. The Watermelon salad was a MAJOR disappointment as the Watermelon had more green/white color than red, indicating they cut the pieces to close to the rind. The pieces were hard, and tasteless. For entrées we ordered a Mango Shrimp Rice bowl, Jaeger Schnitzel and Seafood Pot Pie. The Schnitzel and Pot Pie were both served with a side, we opted for salads. The salads were warm had pieces of brown lettuce indicating the lettuce was old and often caused when cut with a knife. (Torn lettuce helps reduce the browning (rusting). The entrées were served hot and pleasantly surprised quite good.
I asked to speak to the Manger- I informed him of the issues and showed him the pieces of Watermelon that were green - accounted for half the salad. I told the manager he needs to better train his kitchen staff! I asked if he was the owner, he said his father was. I said well its his name that will go down the tubes with this type of food preparation. I said I would be happy to discuss this with the chef, and the Manger said no.
This was not about getting something for free, as i did not ask for compensation for the items i previously mentioned. I personally have worked professionally within the industry a four start restaurant in NY. First rule, HOT FOOD HOT, COLD FOOD COLD. Other than the entrees Thee B's falls short. This was to point out the areas that the owner needs to address...
Read moreThis used to be a go to place for my husband and I. Their prices were always rising and it's a bit overpriced for a bistro in a one square mile town, so we've really not gone as frequently over the past few years. After a recent visit, I know we'll never return. I'd ordered a special that was to include lobster, wagyu beef, and pieces of crab. I honestly thought it was way too pricy, but it was a rare date night, so I went for it. There was no way that was wagyu beef. It basically tasted like stew meat. There were maybe 2 pieces of lobster in there and if I had to wager on it, it wasn't lobster but langoustine or crawfish. The crab? Imitation. It was all served in a brown sauce that made the entire plate look beyond unappetizing. The garlic fried rice it was served over might as well have just been cloves of garlic because that's all you tasted. On top of all of this, my pint glass was chipped on the rim. Of course, there wasn't a server in sight to help me with either issue. When our server finally came back and asked if I wanted a take away container for my food (as I'm sure it looked like I didn't eat any of it), I told him, "Honestly? It's disgusting." He just said, "oh, ok." Then I told him to throw away my pint glass because there is a chip in the rim that I found when I felt the jagged part on my lip when I went to drink my beer and again, it was just, "ok." Never saw a manager, the server clearly has no customer service skills or sense about him, and the biggest kicker was if you want to pay with your credit card, they charge you a 4% fee. First, anyone who has a business knows processing fees are 2.5% but this restaurant will make a profit on anything, clearly. Secondly, it's called a cost of doing business, work it into your already overpriced meal (I believe mine that I ate three bites of was $60) and call it a day. The cheek of a restaurant serving $15 burgers and then charging you to use a credit card. I can't even. It should be noted our wings appetizer just tasted like gross, dry chicken until we realized on the last wing that the pool of oil that was on the plate was actually the buffalo sauce they should've been tossed in. Prices have gone wayyyyy up and quality and standards are so far down it's like paying $60 for a meal...
