I gave the owners of this establishment ample to call me back since the incident that happened on 10/27 so I writing this review. Needless to say, I was dining with a birthday party on 10/27. I ordered non-spicy shrimp boil bag. When I received my food, the shrimp boil bag came out very spicy. Another member (complete stranger to me) of the same party also ordered a shrimp boil bag but spicy. We spoke with the waitress, we mentioned that the kitchen gave us the wrong bags of food that we ate out the bags. The waitress and manager took the food back to the kitchen. By all means, we’re setting at the table near the kitchen door. They swapped our bags around and gave us each other bags that we ate out. They took them 2 minutes to return back to the table with our food. The bags came back to the table open on a silver platter. They swapped around order tickets on the platters. I told the waitress to get the manager because I’m not eating out of something that a complete stranger ate out. I told her that too many people are walking around with AIDS/ HIV, STDs, Covid, common cold or flu. The manager took the bag back to the kitchen with an attitude. She brought me “another bag that she blow up to make it look fresh“. The new bag came out spicy too. I told the waitress to remove the shrimp boil bag from my ticket. So the ticket was made out for my chicken wings (6pcs) lemon pepper. Then the waitress comes back 5 mins later and tells me I forgot to add your soda to the ticket. I paid for the soda and wings. I spoke with the manager and I told her that it was my first time and last time coming to the restaurant because it was a VERY HORRIBLE experience and the waitress had the audacity to make me pay for my soda after my experience. The manager said thank you and I’m sorry (while rolling her eyes). I was told by the manager that she will take a percentage off my bill. I didn’t receive the discount, I paid full price. I gave her my information to another manager to pass along to owners, Gary and Jen because was not acceptable. My health was in jeopardy by eating contaminated food that someone ate out. I have been very nice about the situation. I haven’t heard back Gary or Jen to this day. I also spoke with manager didn’t’ deny that they swapped the food.
Please don’t send your food back to kitchen because you might be eating someone else’s food that they ate of.
I’m sorry I had to do because the owners don’t care about...
Read morethe atmosphere was loud, very loud but we were there on a holiday, Mothers Day actually so it's understandable, it was crowded. The appetizers were great - the service was nothing impressive- it was quite terrible. The drinks were loaded with ice - so it was an issue when three sips abs it's gone - told waitress if problem, she didn't listen to the problem , just thought we wanted more or free drinks. So when the 2nd drinks came and they were the same way, I offered to pay extra to just have a drink with NO iCE - the waitress just walked off , just left, never came back with the drink , forgot the condiments for our order, brought all of our food out at different times ,And when I asked about why the drinks didn't come, she became extremely upset and said
"mam I'm sorry about the issues you are having, but I'm grown ,and I don't listen to people yelling at me, or mumbling under their breath, so if u want to talk to me , and if you want me to fix your issue, then maybe u need to grow up and then we can have a conversation about what u want me to do for you." all in front of my family, I asked for the manager, but apparently she WAS THE MANAGER ! Brittany? I'm not sure if that was her real name Or not bc she hesitated and didn't want to offer her name when I asked.
regardless if that was her name or not, I decided to just remove myself from the situation. So i left without eating. I was embarrassed and hurt by the entire situation. I just wanted to take my mom out for a nice dinner on Mother's Day, not be verbally attacked/assaulted by the MANAGER BRITANY for trying to ask for w tea purée or less ice . I struggle with health issues so it was a lot for me to get up and remove myself from the situation. I never thought I could feel unsafe in a restaurant with my family but I guess there is a first time...
Read moreCame for a birthday dinner on a Sunday, party of 10. Only one other large party in the restaurant at 5pm but pretty busy at the bar. Server took drink and app order & says our waitress is "on her way in". Nothing is served to table. A few minutes later our new waitress arrived, apologized and said let's start over with drink and app orders by labeling everyone by name. Ok cool. 5:36pm drinks arrive. Water tasted horrible but sweet tea was very sweet and good just lacking ice.
Short time later our two hushpuppy apps arrived. You get 8 hushpuppies and 2 small FROZEN butters. Our waitress is so overwhelmed getting our drinks, bibs, silverware and hand wipes that by the time you see her again and communicate you need more butter to eat your app the food is cold before butter comes. Just aggravating.
We order food, which was pretty good. Boils were good. Crab cakes were thin but tasty. Corn was old and chewy, threw it away. Cheeseburger sliders and fries were great even though I ordered the sliders only cheese plain bc the server didn't know how they came. They didn't arrive plain, they had ketchup, Mustard and pickle. I didn't even tell her bc she clearly can't keep up.
Parties of 6 or more have auto gratuity of 18% added which is unfortunate bc I feel like it encourages the server to not do their best bc the tip is there regardless. I know this isn't the case everywhere but it definitely is in the Big Lots shopping center. I tried not to judge this place by location and had high hopes but was disappointed and won't be back.
These types of restaurants are everywhere these days so make a better choice than Brook...
