Smoothie King — Restaurant in Lakeway

If you’re looking for a reliable establishment, this one is not it. Yesterday, I ordered a cocoa haze smoothie bowl. The picture below is what I received. When I got home and realized the base was not correct, I thought “I can deal with this” but once I started eating it, I realized that this was an entirely different bowl with cocoa on top??? How hard is it to follow a recipe? It’s just assembly of ingredients. Their biggest issue is their staff. I once came in 30min after opening & was told it would be a 20 minute wait because they didn’t cut up fruit yet. Some nights I like to go in around 8 for smoothie bowls & almost every time, they will say they’re out of açaí. After a while, I realized they were lying. Especially one night when I came in & there were 10 teenage boys behind the counter. Told me again - out of açaí, but promptly at 8:30pm, they all busted running out of the store and into their cars. 0/10 would recommend for anyone to visit here. I’ve only been here twice, and each time the staff has been rude, short, and disrespectful. Today was the final straw in going here, and I am only leaving this review so that others are aware of the abysmal service that this Smoothie King provides. Unfortunately, we were charged for more than what we had ordered, and let the employee making the drinks know. Before he could even respond, the manager just brushed us off as if that’s what we ordered. Instead of mitigating the issue, the manager proceeded to yell at us and tell us that she knew we left a bad review here before (which isn’t possible since it was only my second time), and that we didn’t need to come if we didn’t like the service. That’s fine, I still had to ask several times for my refund though (which is a problem). All this while the manager proceeded to berate me and proceed in bouts of unprofessionalism. I was looking at some of the past reviews and noticed one had commented on English being spoken. 🤔. Come to think about it my visit the other day a lot of Spanish was being spoken amongst the employees. I had no clue what they were talking about. The person that individual that took my order had to ask another person what I was saying. I believe 1 out of three of them some English. Anyway. I’ve lived in Lakeway for over 5 years. Ive been to this particular place many times. Huge employee turnover. And there’s not a lot of foot traffic and no more than maybe 1 or 2 customers in there at one time. My recent visit the smoothie I ordered wasnt the same that I usually get. Something was off about it. Basically it was awful. So much for a $10.00 smoothie 🤦‍♂️.
