Read moreI found this place a couple of months ago and things were great…until my visit today.
To start, I recently healed from a bad bout with Covid and pneumonia. I’m not the guy telling you to wear a mask or not. I do, because I almost died, but I don’t force my views on anyone.
My visit at this location today is part of a weekly tradition my family and I started recently. We go, every Saturday morning, to what my four year old son calls “Summer Moonwalk”. We get the same thing every time and sit outside and prepare for our weekend. I do wear a mask inside and I’ve always seen the same from the employees. They are handling food, so I’m hoping it’s both courtesy and common sense.
Today, as my son and I waited for my coffee, another man and his infant paid and left. The man was masked, but try putting a mask on an infant. I’ll give you a hint…it doesn’t work. So, as I stood and waited, I watched the unmasked young man making my coffee begin to ridicule the man for his mask and the choice not to mask his infant. The other girls chimed in, most wearing masks themselves, and they all continued to discuss the stupidity of masks. Mind you, I just survived a bad bout, so I was standing there in a mask out of choice, not because “the man” told me to do so. However, as representatives of a business, all of the employees engaging in the unprofessional conversation sounded horrible. Keep it to yourselves, but other customers are listening. I too am tired of wearing it, but the anti vaxers and the anti maskers who keep spiking the numbers higher and pushing Travis County into a Stage 5 level are the reason I still choose to wear one. So, Summer Moon staff…your shaming of customers has lost this one. I’ll go elsewhere...
Read moreI LOVE SUMMER MOON! The coffee is amazing. It’s my absolute favorite. The service, however, is lacking. I had 18 stars on the rewards system and they couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t connect with my phone number. They said they fixed it and that the next time I came in, they would work. I came in again and my stars had reset to 1. The barista at the drive through was very rude when I asked her what happened to my stars and just shrugged it off.
I went in again just now and the same barista was, again, incredibly rude. We asked for two 16oz Wintermoons and when we got to the window she handed us one. My friend politely told her we ordered two, she rolled her eyes and said, “I guess we’ll make another one on the fly..” and closed the drive through window.
When we asked her to put my number in when she gave us the total, she said she would do it after I paid. How does that make any sense if I’m to claim my rewards?? I don’t know. Maybe I don’t understand the system but instead of explaining she just closed the drive through window. When we thanked her at the end she again closed the window with no response. I’m honestly afraid that she spit in my coffee with the attitude that she had. I don’t know if I’m going to continue coming here, despite how much I love it, because the last dozen times I’ve come the service has gotten progressively worse.
Update: they’re anti LGBTQ+ and anti choice so yeah...
