I love Bruno's, as a German this is as close to home as it is going to get when dining out. Cindy & Kellie provide amazing service each time with a smile on their face, both of them have been there for years and they truly make you feel like family each time you come in. These ladies know my family and I by name, and out of all of the customers they have they even remember what we usually order as well. To start the goulash soup is always a must, it is very flavorful and my favorite soup. The schnitzel sandwich is my go to meal as it's the perfect portion, I love that they put cucumber salad on the sandwich it really makes the entire sandwich. I always substitute the fries for German potato salad. You also cannot go wrong with the potato pancakes, make sure you get some apple sauce to go with them. The schnitzel plates are also very good, especially the Jäger schnitzel. Dining here feels just like home; the music, the decorations, the people. Absolutely love Bruno's and if you're German or have been to Germany, you have got to be sure to stop in here for a treat. They also have weekly lunch specials

Edit: before you die you must preview the menu in heaven by visiting Bruno's. I didn't know schnitzel could be so good! Truly one of this world's greatest delicacies, perfected at bruno's! The hangover soup is also a must try; don't be discouraged by the pickles in the soup, you will be distracted by the hearty potatoes and flavorful sausage. So very very good. Definitely top 100, maybe even top 50 for best meals I've ever had and I've eaten all over the world and at many a 5 star restaurant. This place isn't a diamond in the rough, its a well polished gem and truly exposes the flaw of a 5 star review, this place deserves a full 10! I'm still reeling from how good it was and it's not just the beer talking! Had an awesome lunch at Bruno's yesterday. Will definitely have to come in for national schnitzel day. I forget the name of the dish I got but man, it was really good. Awesomely authentic, bruno's has an incredibly friendly staff (considering EVERYWHERE is struggling with understaffing these days), and I wouldn't overlook their deserts either. I cant wait to come back!!

One of my favorite places to eat in the greater Tacoma area. This is the same restaurant featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, just a "new" location since the filming. I've never had a bad meal here, so it's always worth the price to me. The schnitzel here is on point: always crispy. The rahmschnitzel is my favorite item, but jägerschnitzel is a very close second. The soups are always good; can never go wrong with the signature hangover soup. The mushroom soup is a special, but is probably my favorite. Their chicken noodle is also quite good. The combo plates are a nice variety of dishes and flavors. The desserts here are absolutely fantastic and I'm not a big dessert person. I tend to get overwhelmed by sweets quickly. They have the best lemon cake I've ever had: light with well-balanced flavor. The chocolate cake is also tasty, though I don't think I could finish a slice without assistance. The cream filled desserts are also enjoyable.

There were things we liked and things we weren't crazy about that averaged out to a 3-star experience. When we arrived all of the booths by the window were full so we grabbed a regular table. Service was great and very friendly. Ambiance left a bit to be desired and felt it needs an update and a higher energy vibe. It was very utilitarian. As far as food, we ordered a side of the potato salad, which we felt was very basic, with no onion or bacon, and consistency was closer to lumpy mashed potatoes. We had the Jägerschnitzel and Rahm. The Jägerschnitzel comes unbreaded, which we hadn't paid attention to on the menu. Loved the sauce, but would have preferred the breaded, pan fried version. The Rahm was breaded and delicious, and sauce was good. The ideal combo would be the Rahm with the Jägerschnitzel sauce! The spaetzel was okay but was like tiny morsels versus the longer noodles. We plan to return and try some other items on the menu.

We came for lunch on a Wednesday and were surprised to find it so busy. We were even more surprised to see that they were on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives! I had the #3 Lunch Special, came with Polish Kielbasa, German potato salad, sauerkraut, soup (I chose goulash) and roll. My husband got the Gorganzola Schnitzel with the spaetzle and Sauerkraut. We also got a Perogi dish to share. They only had the sauerkraut and potato option. The polish sausage was good, the sauerkraut was super good, the potato salad and spaetzle didnt have a ton of flavor. Loved the soup! The Gorganzola Schnitzel was pretty amazing!! The servers were running around so it took a bit to get service after we were seated but there was only 2 for a full house, I think they weren't prepared for the rush. All in all we will be back when we are in the area.
