El Pollo Loco — Restaurant in Lakewood

I like El Pollo because they have great chicken and some healthly options for fast food. It's a good place to go when you are trying to avoid the typical burger/fries or typical drive-thru taco stands.

This restaurant is located near a lot of businesses, so when I visit for lunch, it can be quite busy. Parking can be an issue at times, as traffic is very busy on Carson during the afternoon and the car wash next door, with attendants drying cars out in the parking lot, can make parking feel, well...claustrophobic.

This El Pollo is nicely decorated, however, I often find the tables here messy and uncleaned during lunch hours. They get a large lunch crowd so it is somewhat understandable, however it just looks horrible seeing trash overflowing the bins, dirty trays stacked and food marks on the tables. The sauces and condiments are right next to the line and soda dispensers making it difficult to get those items for your meal.

The Original Pollo Salad is a good salad option. The chicken and crisp corn with the avocado dressing is delicious. The chicken in El Pollo Loco always has that wonderful citrus distinct taste.

I'd like to give a 4 star rating, the staff here is friendly, but the restaurant needs more clean up...

This is the BEST fast food restaurant i ever visit. The cashier cassidy is the most hospitable and cheerful greeting us, taking out order, suggesting sauce, etc. She greeted everyone equally happily and extremely nice. Im so happy mood. And yhe staffs are excellent as well. The other lady brought the menus to everyone yo our tables. And even the lady sweeping greeted us to see how are we doing today. Another lady busy cleaning the mess people did at the salsa bar and the tables. Etc. Its very well. Maintained. Im so surprised by the level professionalism and hospitable of this location. I am SUPER impressed! They have a fantastic team definitely! I would love to come back for more another day, eventhough its quite far away from my home! The tostada I received was NOTHING like the pictured item. There was literally about 10 individual shreds of cheese, one tiny spoon each of sour cream and pico de gallo about the size of a quarter, and only enough lettuce to reach half way up the tortilla bowl. The grilled chicken was tough and hard to eat or even stab onto my fork. Considering this is just about $10 before tax, I was NOT impressed. Thankfully the dressing was included so I'd have some taste in the salad. So I basically paid over $10 for about 2 cups of lettuce and about 2 ounces of chicken. I would never order this again or recommend anyone else to if this is what supposed to be served. ...
