I came for the HAPPY TUMMY HOURS. There was a line but it moved through fairly quickly. My wait time was about 15 minutes. That's not bad considering that everyone is here for the Happy Hour!

I picked 3 items for $21 (choices were 1 item from $6, $8 & $10).

Choice #1 $6: I picked the Ika Geso which was lighter battered deep fried squid legs. It was chewy & crunchy at the same time. I love squid legs so this item hit the spot!

Choice #2 $8: I picked the Lynn Roll which is a deep fried roll after it was filled with Shrimp Tempura, Imitation Crab, Avocado, Jalapeño & Cream Cheese; cut up & lightly drizzled with Eel Sauce. Perfect fully cooked rolls for starters who does want to go raw right away.

Choice #3 $10 item: I picked the Sexy Girl Roll which is filled with Shrimp Tempura, Jalapeño & Spicy Mayo inside; topped with fresh thinly sliced Mango lightly drizzled with Chili Powder & Chili Oil. This roll also hit the spot. It was a little sweet, a little sour, a little spicy & a little crunchy.

I ended up with a Pay Roll which is a refreshing thinly sliced cucumber skin rolled assorted selection of raw fish. It's a beautiful green, red, yellow, white that also gets your taste buds going with the yuzu ponzu sauce.

My daughter had the Tonkotsu Kids Meal for $8. It came with deep fried battered pork, miso soup, rice & 4 pieces of California Rolls. Perfect portion for any kids under...

I Luv Sushi was my go-to place. No longer. I like to try different items on the menu. Today, I tried the following: "Lady In Red. Tempura spicy garlic tuna wrapped with Japanese mint leaf served with ponzu sauce." It sounded delicious. When I got home from picking up the food, I opened my package with anticipation, and tried a bit--and immediately felt sick. I looked at the food in front of me, and to my dismay, it looked like shrimp was in the food. I'm allergic to shrimp. I immediately called I Luv Sushi to confirm, and indeed this item has shrimp--not included in the above description. They informed me that they would credit me the item and that I could drive back to pick it up--an inconvenience to me. They should have simply stated that they would deliver another item. Amidst taking Benadryl and checking for symptoms of whether or not to go to the emergency room, I drove back to get a replacement item. They informed me that they would pay me the difference--three dollars and change. Quite frankly, I Luv Sushi is lucky I'm not in the hospital conferring with my lawyers. The least they could have done is provided me with a gift card--$50 or $100 is nothing in comparison to the lawsuit. This lack of consideration for the safety of I Luv Sushi's patrons...

This review is for their happy hour, aka "Happy tummy time"

The choose 6 is a great deal, but can be too much food for one person.

While the prices have been raised slightly, this is still a great deal for he price/quality. With that said, there isn't much on the HTT menu that isn't either fried, covered in spicy mayo, or made with Krab and.

The salmon sashimi was the shining star of the choices available.

My biggest complaint isn't that of the food choices, but the pacing of the food. So often this is the problem with less than traditional sushi places, but on my visit today it felt a bit extreme. Within 3 minutes of ordering 7 items, I had them all at my table. That's 5 rolls, 3 of which have fried shrimp, an order of salmon sashimi, and some unagi sushi. There was no way I could eat all of this before it was less than freshly made.

Service was kind and friendly. Inside is nice and clean despite the parking lot and outside area looking like a Fresno strip mall.

I'll come back another time to try out what the normal dining...

Waited a long time to be seated even though there was plenty of open tables. No host bothered to sit anyone down. When i waved down a server she just gave us attitude. The other patrons all agreed with me that she was bad. Asian gal short dyed blonde hair you lost a star for your dumb lie. This place is for people who have no clue of what sushi should be. The first plate of gyoza was served with red sweet n sour to dip. This alone speaks volumes. Like panda express. The calamari was chewy nasty. Forget the sashimi. Yes good size portions but not the best quality... pass on it. My friend said your salmon was sticky and it just felt like mall food. The rolls looked and tasted ok. Stick to the rolls. Our server was very nice. He is the only reason you get any stars. We both said first time and last time.

It was my first time here. To begin it was a full house I checked in on their tablet which said it would be a 15 - 20 min wait. I was seated at the bar, which had me a little uneasy at first beacuse i don't like to feel suffocated, but I did say first spot available. As soon as I sat down I heard an announcement that it was someone's birthday which was in expiernce on its own nothing over the top but I won't spoil it. But down to the nitty gritty the food left me feeling like I was unworthy and Chef Ben was right there always checking if I needed anything one of the best sushi places if not the best I've been to In the long beach area.
