We don't drive into this part of town but every few months and when we do it is to take care of some important business specific to our family vehicle. The required maintenance usually consumes anywhere from two to four hours of the day so getting something to eat in the area has usually been something of a challenge. There are a lot of fast food restaurants in the area and most ALL of them tasting the same, makes a whole new set of challenges just to find something the remotest bit different to make the whole eating experience enjoyable. It appeared that the entire time I was there the patrons were neighborhood locals bringing in their family, the staff was very friendly, the service was prompt and courteous, the restaurant was clean along with the restrooms being well kept and pleasant to one's senses. I had a rib-eye steak, three eggs sunny side up, hash browns and sourdough toast with extra butter. The meal really was perfect and had I cooked it myself, I wouldn't have changed a thing. Okay, I know you're probably saying, "It's just breakfast, what can go wrong"? Well, that's true but, today was exceptional and I know, it is subjective making a call for how good can a breakfast be? Well, it was good and the only way you can dispute the assessment is to make the taste test yourself. I enjoyed it and will go back the next time we're in the area needing maintenance on our...
Read moreI started going when they first opened and the owners were fantastic then they sold the business and I have only been back once . There is another place called Heritage in Lakewood I do not advise anyone go there . My friend and I stopped by today because Norms was too crowded. So we stopped at the one on Lakewood and DelAno. Nasty nasty nasty customer service was bad the place smelled bad the food smelled and tasted bad. I should have known something was wrong when we stopped in and it was empty . The workers were wearing shirts that said " Taco Bar " but the place is Heritage. The person that took our order was weird the person that seat us was rude . It was just a unpleasant experience. The pork chops I ordered smelled bad and tasted even worst. I should have known when everyone there had doggie bags . My food was horrible. It used to be Cocos and before that it was Bobs Big Boy. Nothing like Heritage Family Pantry so don't make same mistake they are trying to fool ppl into coming into that place plus the furniture was dirty and smelly. Customer service let's just say not for black ppl. The server kept asking for us to pay as if he thought we were going to run out without paying. They will not be there long trust and...
Read moreIt was Labor Day, and almost everything was closed, but this spot was open—and wow, are we glad we found it! We were in the mood for breakfast burritos, did a quick search, and decided to give them a try. Before heading over, we called to check if they were open, and not only were they open, they even let us put our name on the list ahead of time (love when places do that!).
When we arrived, we were seated quickly. Our waitress was clearly busy, but she still managed to be attentive and friendly, which we really appreciated. I ordered the bacon breakfast quesadilla—never thought about quesadillas in a breakfast style before, but it was packed with flavor and absolutely delicious. Sergio had the wet burrito with chorizo, and since he’s picky about chorizo, he was impressed enough to give it an A+ (that’s saying something!).
Being new to the area, we’ve been on the hunt for go-to breakfast spots, and this one officially made our list. Great food, great service, and open on a holiday when no one else was—highly recommend giving them a try!
PS I forgot to add they have...
