Greek Village Grille — Restaurant in Lakewood

I use to work.for this place and it completly unsanitary to eat there tables are never cleaned the owner pays under the table 32 dollers for a.5 or 6 hour shift and i read a review about the owner saying you get about 7 ounes of gyro meat but none of the meat is weighed and its not fresh at all they deli slice the old cores to make.extra money and the dishwasher machine is broke and dosent run correctly and is full of limescale hardend on like concreat i informed multiple people and it never was fixed i would come.to.work to no dish soap or sponges or steel wool or scrub pads to wash and the whole front line.is a nasty greesy mess workers there literly stand around and.no one ever wears gloves for anything even while cooking and preping the food they smoke inside the restruant.in the kitchen.and no one wears hats or hair nets either but they do make a decent gyro if it dosent give u food poisoning in the process the lasagna is baked then frozen then cut into.sqaures and are MICROWAVED so is everything else they make soup everything is microwaved even fries lol the oil gets changed maybe once every couple.months i quit working there bc its a dead.end slave labor working under the table for under minumum wage and the place is disgusting even when i worked there tryed to get people to help me deep clean they would say go for it thats not my job but all workers just play games.on there phones smoke cigs and handle.food with there bare hands if u want a real good gyro go to 73rd and lorain the the gas station they have a 5doller gyro combo where the gyros are made fresh dailey and come with fries and any 20oz.pop or arizona tea brisk whatever u perfer and they are very sanitary compared to greek village they even recycle and reuse the old cores that been sitting in a fridge at 38 degrees for weeks on end untill someone gets around to doing it even the owner is absent and lazy and has no considerstion for his workers or.customers im surprized the city hasent shut them down due to the unheathly and uncleanlyness the better buissness burue needs to be called and the health adminstration needs to be brought in b4 they get someone very sick they never wash any of the front line equipment correctly and.are never up to code on.anything and well in all honesty i liked working there but the boss has no considerstion 4 his workers and the unsafe and unsanitary workplace is not worth me trying to bust my ass for them and not be apriciated or noticed for doing work and cleaning things that never get cleaned they lost a great worker bc they dont know how to pay or treat employees equally and its a shame honestly this place puts.a.bad name for greek food!!! I recently quit due to them ignoreing my wishes and not giving any more hours i litterly begged for weeks for an extra couple hours and was told to wait till around thanksgiving and was blown off in the end so i did the same.in return i blew them off and went elsewhere for work at least now im making a lil over minum wage and im not getting paid under the table and im getting.over 70hours in a biweekly pay period works great for me good luck in the future i hope u see this and take it to heart and make some serious changes bc your already about to lose more employees and custermers bc there half way out the door already due to the fact of being ignored constantly orders being wrong and the lack of a team setting in the restraunt is causeing it to go downhill very fast and the empolyees and customers see it failing as it is no wonder why buissness is goingdown hill and everybody saying its.changed in the past year compared to when they...

Called ahead to check their hours/location and a woman answered "Hello"... I had to ask if it was actually the restaurant. That would be fine if it was the only sign of a business being run by amateurs, but unfortunately it wasn't. Drove a half hr to get some Greek food since this would be the closest Greek restaurant to me & let me tell you why I now regret that decision.....

I ordered skordalia (which I have had a dozen times and this place makes it so that it tastes like mashed potatoes in vinegar, instead of garlic, potatoes, and olive oil). It was literally inedible because it was so nasty. Wasted money there.

I ordered the Athenian Platter and simply asked the guy to substitute onions with either mushrooms or green peppers. He informed me they have no mushrooms, so it would be green peppers... And then he proceeded to fill my container with banana peppers (not a single green pepper in sight). And simply warmed a few tomatoes slices on top so that a few were cold, and the others were just warm and mushy... and unseasoned.

My boyfriend ordered the stuffed peppers and we got to hear the guy yell to the back "Hey get some stuffed peppers outta the freezer!" Mmmm appetizing! lol (So much for their "Food made fresh daily" bs... And I got to witness the same reddish-brunette guy that just handled our money - stick his filthy fingers into the to-go box to straighten the foil the peppers were to be placed on... ya, health department would've loved that.

We got a small Greek salad, and tell me why the lettuce for the SALAD was the shredded lettuce they use on gyros? lol Yes... shredded salad. That is either lazy or just plain stupid.

When I reminded the guy to please give us plastic utensils, he agreed, but forgot by the time the food was done so I had to ask again. When I was handed my UNWRAPPED forks I noticed a HAIR on one of them. GROSS. So I had to ask for a different UNSANITARY UNWRAPPED fork, that for all I know was just in some hairy guy's back pocket.

I called after I was all the way back home and noticed all the problems with my food. I guess I should've known better than to leave the building before checking the food after all the shocking amateur mistakes I witnessed but I gave it some faith. AND they were not very busy so I assumed they had taken care of things with undivided attention.

BUT when I decided I was way too disappointed, I called, the girl just said "I didn't make that order, but I hope that things work out better for you here next time". LOL As if I am coming back?!?! lol Ya, not "I'm sorry", not "Bring it back and we'll remake it", not "What is your name so we can credit you next time". No customer retention... just dumb, careless, crappy customer service.

So I hung up and called back to talk to a manager. He had the same illusive view of customer service. Totally didn't care to lose business due to mistake after mistake & the food wasn't even good. I spent about $30 and my chicken was BLAND, the (frozen) stuffed peppers had barely ANY meat in them. They reminded me of when you get a burrito of alll rice at Chipotle. lol I had a hairy fork handed to me, they don't wash their hands in between CASH handling and FOOD prep, they don't know the difference between banana peppers and green peppers, and they don't care!!!

Screw you customer! You should've known better than to come here for quality

Let me say first we ordered jumbo gyros.Gyro meat was great, but they put all that meat on a pita that was about 4 to 5 inches in diameter. You could not pick it up . the tomato was wilted. We also ordered tiropites, spanakopita, dolmathes and feta fries...the tiropites , the filo was soggy, like they were just defrosted then served inside was no feta cheese, an ricotta, the cheese tasted like cottage cheese, the spanakopita..tell filo was the way it should.be crunchy, but the spinach tasted like canned spinach, there was no onion, or feta cheese in it..the dolmathes were either brought in from somewhere else or they were canned...never knew you coulD puree rice....the here was no ground beef, lemon taste no dill, just drippy olive oil...the best for last ..the here hehe feta fries. ..the here hehe hey must have been fried a ND refried from 11 a.m. or leftover from the night before ..they were dark br I we hard as a rock. .feta was tossed on top with limp tomato...this gastronomical delight cost 6 dollars! We went for take out about 3:30 last sunday .this was supposed to be my son's birthday dinner. . He wanted Greek food for his birthday dinner. From the reviews people said it was great food...boy was i wrong...it's n o t the money I spent, it's the fact of quality food you are serving representing my Greek Heritage to the public at large...BY THE WAY BEST GYROS EVER...THE PLACE T O BE DETROIT AND WARREN RD IN LAKEWOOD, OH. .not...
