Gina DeSantis Ceramics — Attraction in Lakewood

Rude customer service by the owner! I have a 160 lb Newfie that eats quite a bit of food, so I wanted to get a large ceramic bowl for him. I would have gotten one from a pet store or from Chewy.com, but unfortunately the largest sizes they offered were the standard 8-inch bowls you can find in just about any store for $20—and that size simply isn’t big enough for him. I know this because I already use them for my other dogs.

After some searching, I found Gina DeSantis Ceramics, which listed their larger size as 9 inches. I placed an order for a large custom bowl, which cost about $100, and I was very excited—until it arrived. The bowl was actually slightly smaller than 8 inches, closer to their 7-inch medium bowl. I reached out to Gina DeSantis Ceramics about the issue, and their response was a brief: “All sales are final and all sizes are clearly listed. You got what you ordered.”

I explained that what had arrived was smaller than what I had ordered and sent pictures as proof, stating that something needed to be done. They responded by refunding me the price difference between the large and medium bowls but also said they would not make me any more bowls and did not wish to deal with me further.

While I appreciate the refund for the size difference, I do feel their response was rather abrupt and rude.

I bought some ceramic men’s shaving soap bowls for myself and my son as a gift. We love them and use them daily! The colors are really nice (mine is a darker blue glazing and my sons is charcoal gray glaze) and they hold up very well, as I am clumsy and have bumped it with another hard object more than once.
