Hamburger Stand used to be the local teen favorite in the 90s. Seemingly everywhere and .52¢ hamburgers? If it wasn't 2 for $2 Big Mac season, I was there everyday. Chili cheese fries were unchallenged. Onion rings had a unique flavor and were always crisp. The staff knew me and my school friends and were always going the extra mile for us with cheese on the burgers free of charge, extra this, even spread of that. I can't help myself, I try to get to one of the five we have left now that America got a little sand in itsssss, shoes, over less than healthful food. Then Colorado started growing up and before you knew it, the Stand was no longer the standard (see what I did there?). Now, it shows in the quality of the experience. I'm going less and less, and not just because the cost of living in Colorado it's so incredibly impossible to keep up with. No, it is the experience. In the wake of the natural food revolution, the food itself has become bland. Even the ice cream is so generic, I hardly see anyone get a plain cone anymore... but the worst part, is the customer service. I'm sorry, the absence of customer service. I can understand the market necessitates occasionally closing the doors early on the week days but I do not accept any explanation for the way the staff behaves at each location. At one location, the same guy is always cussing up a storm with the drive thru window wide open, throwing tools and kicking stacks of crate flats. At another, the girl at the window can't be bothered to put her phone down, or smile, or stifle her huffing and puffing over the fact that she has to ring up the transaction and not Snapchat her youth away. I'm reasonably sure another location doesn't approve of my making a purchase on that side of town and the one store manager I've ever seen, who actually has a terrific attitude, can't leave his own restaurant without the staff falling into ruin and fighting each other over performance of a job they all have an equal part in. I hate to do it, write this review, but my last five visits have all been experiences that were heart breaking.
The chili cheese fries are still pretty great, though. Eeeehhhhh don't eat then too often. They're not exactly...
Read moreThe customer service today was absolutely horrible. I go out of my way to come to this location due to the fact my family has come here for many years. Today I pull up to the drive thru, place my order with no problem. I get to the window and give the cashier my card. After a couple minutes he says that their credit card machine is not working that I need to pay with cash. Well if I had cash I would be paying with cash. I look back and they are already making my order. Another girl comes over with a horrible attitude and tells me that they aren't serving me because their machine isn't working. I told her I already ordered and they should have said something before. She said they were told to continue orders even knowing it had been down. I ask for s manager and she argued with me. Then she walks outside to where the manager is and yells, "Come get this car out of the drive thru" which is very rude. The manager comes in and says they won't do anything about it, I ask since they are already making it if I could still get it since it is their fault for not telling me, accepting my card from me then being very rude. They could have made this right for the customer since they should have told me ahead of time. It's sad that they rather cook and waste food then have proper customer service. Also, the whole time Im speaking with the manager, the girl is standing directly behind my car trying to be intimidating. I never leave bad reviews but after coming here for years then being treated this way, I will...
Read moreFor going there on the 4th of July holiday, this employee ( a young woman with dark black hair and long fingernails probably around 20 or so maybe younger) CERTAINLY DID NOT WANT to be THERE#!! HER RUDE short and obnoxious tone of voice made it VERY obvious, she would rather probably be smelling and elephants but then serving us our food. To every customer she served, as I heard the people behind me and the people in front of me being treated the same way.. all extremely disappointed they did not have ice cream considering it is a Tastee Freez location. She was very short with us, & kept asking if we were done ordering,? after the first item, and until we were done ordering the four items we ordered!! She told us Happily- the ice cream machine was "broken" & she could not have been ruder when she handed me my change or food bag!!!!! If I go out on any holiday, I usually tip the employees - even if they are grumpy, but that is HOW RUDE this young woman was!!! This was about 8:30 on July 4th 2017, & whoever the manager is - should REALLY take the Tantrum throwing girl aside, & tell her to go get an office job or a warehouse job!!!!!! Terrible service! ! With then went to McDonald's down the read, and got ice cream. #HORRIBLE LADY WORKING THAT NIGHT. USUALLY THIS...
