Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the broth. MaMa's Pho serves up the most delectable, aromatic, and flavorful broth I've ever had the pleasure of savoring. It's evident that they put a lot of love and care into simmering this liquid gold. The depth of flavor and richness in their broth is simply unparalleled, making every spoonful an absolute delight. What truly sets MaMa's Pho apart, though, is their exceptional service. The wait staff is not only efficient but also incredibly friendly. Read moreI had a mixed experience at MaMa’s Pho. I attempted to call ahead to place an order twice using the number listed on Google, but both calls went unanswered. Since I couldn’t get through, I decided to go in person to place my order. The service was initially smooth—I didn’t have to wait long to order, and I even showed the staff a list on my phone of exactly what I wanted to ensure there was no confusion. I pre-tipped 20%, expecting good service.
Unfortunately, I was mistaken in assuming everything was correct. After driving 15 minutes home, I realized that one of the two large pho I ordered was missing. I returned to the restaurant and showed the staff the same list from my phone, with a timestamp proving the order hadn’t been changed. Even though the staff acknowledged the mistake, I still had to pay for the missing pho, which felt frustrating. Given the situation, I would have appreciated if they had taken responsibility and offered it to me free of charge, especially after I had already spent over $40 on the order and pre-tipped generously.
Additionally, the inconvenience of having to return to the restaurant and wait an extra 10 minutes to get the missing pho was disappointing. I had tried to call again before heading back to the restaurant to expedite the process, but no one answered.
The food itself was good, but the service and handling of the situation could have been much better. I hope the phone number gets updated or clarified, and that they work on ensuring order accuracy...

Pho is a relatively new food added to my diet. It was introduced to ne by a friend who regulars a few pho establishments in Tacoma, and many more around the world as he travels. I have been to a few if these places lately and have come to really enjoy the flavors, large portions, and relatively great value.
I was driving through the International District looking for a place that caught my eye. I chose this place as it was packed. Parked, went in and stood in line for 10 minutes. I am not complaining about the wait, just letting you know how busy it was. This made me even more excited thinking that all these people must have found a gem. I'll wait, no problem. The menu was small. Great, the focus is on broth and noodles, excellent.
I think I was wrong. The focus seemed to be on bubble tea, a flavored tapioca powder and tea (I believe) which is made via LOUD blender.
When my seafood pho #46 arrived I looked at it and saw that it was sparsely decorated with a few surimi fish pieces and a fair amount of broth and noodles.
It was bland.
This place was extremely loud.
If cleanliness is next to godliness somebody's in serious trouble.
I lost my excitement, and smile while eating..
The very cold Coca-Cola in the can was perfect, says my wife.
The two small TV's on opposite sides of the room were playing the Lions - Panthers game. The final score left the Panthers defected. My smile was back.
