This part of Little Korea was better than expected. Their shelves were loaded with everything you can want. We went through the out side first to see what was on the shelves. Fruit and melons I had never seen before. A worker had to point out the yellow thing was not a gourd, it was a melon. There was another big melon we bought and was soft. It was so sweet and the family loved it. So with the smaller one that looked like a gourd.
The meat department had fresh crab, clams and other. The frozen area was loaded just the same. There was some preped foods to the right. I got one to see what it tasted like. Man it was yummy. They even have soup dishes you can heat up at home.
There was coffee in a bag. It didnt have any english on it, it looked like tea on ice. But it was meant for Ice Coffee. With a little spout on the side, you can stuff it in a cooler and have ice coffee all day long. That flavor was perfect.
There are non food items as well. if you need a pot or spatula or even a rice cooker, they have it.
The bakery we got some goodies to go. They were gone before we got to the truck. The kids loved them. The price is a bit high, but, for good bakery items,, it was well worth it.
That was my frist time there. We went back for more things we liked. some frozen and some not. We even got iccream on sticks and finished that in the parking lot.
The cleanliness of the store is exceptional. All the isles were dust and dirt free. I let my 2yo son walk bare foot without worries. The bathrooms just the same. Well cleaned walls and floors. I give the bathrooms a 5 too.
Go here if you havent before. You will find some foods that will give you a different taste.
WE hope you enjoy your visit and feel the...
Read moreI've been to several Asian markets, and this one was excellent. They have a wide variety of brands that include all of the major ethnic manufacturers from Vietnam, Thailand, China, Korea, and Japan. A very wide range selection of ingredients, pre-prepared food, packaged snacks, and an excellent selection of fresh fish and seafood.
They also have a small section of housewares and a decent selection of liquor, as well as many of the regional non-alcoholic beverages. It is a pleasant shopping environment with an excellent soundtrack and the staff was extremely helpful. They also have on-site security because it is not in the nicest part of town. Highly recommend a visit, but for ladies or the wary I would like recommend doing so by daytime hours.
They do also have a fairly extensive bakery near the exit, but we did not have time to explore that. Everything we saw there looked delicious, just like the deli counter with their fresh made sushi and pre packed ramen bowls. The time of day of my first visit wasn't conducive to giving any of that a try but it all looked very good.
I will say that we were there for almost 2 hours when my original intention was just to grab some rice noodles. Not because the store was exceptionally crowded or poorly organized, but because there were so many things that looked good and so many different items that we wanted to try!
The prices and selection are definitely worth your time, and we will be...
Read moreI wanted to give 5 stars for H Mart, but I really want to reserve the highest marks for a place that will WOW me. I do feel it's a solid 4.5 and if I had the option that's what I would give. The produce is always good quality and I appreciate that they proportion reasonable sizes instead of the supersized ones in regular supermarkets. I also appreciate the variety of Asian-Pacific vegetables available because it allows me to get cheffy. The meat counter and seafood counters are also good quality and I highly recommend them. This place is always very clean and well organized. When compared to the other two major asian markets in the area (Paldo World and Boo Han) I go here more often. I love Paldo World for the variety, but it's HUGE, and unless you know exactly what you are looking for you might be a while. I consider Boo Han a value market that still has quality stuff, they just seem to focus less on aesthetics. One of the things I enjoy most about going to any of the three markets is trying new things. My son and I like to each get some ramen and a drink we have never had before just to try it out. If you cooking an asian meal sometime or feeling adventurous I highly recommend checking...
