This is not a Mexican Restaurant nor do they serve authentic Mexican food! The tortillas that they use for burritos are purchased from a grocery store or elsewhere and are similar to Kroger’s flour tortillas. Definitely not what I expected, especially with the title “Maria Elena's Mexican Restaurant.” The burritos aren’t folded at the bottom, and they hand them to you with no bag unless it’s requested! I requested one on my second and last visit, and got the ol’ eye roll. The ingredients are clearly made days in advance. The potatoes have become complete mush, the ground beef is dried out etc. The taco shells are also store bought and very small! The beef was cold and old, the cheese was not melted, and clearly came straight from a package that was already shredded by the manufacturer.
They don’t even serve chips and salsa at the table. Please consider changing your name. Making people think they will experience a Mexican Restaurant atmosphere is unethical. This is one step above taco bell, not a Mexican Restaurant. The title of the restaurant is misleading and the food is old, mushy and dry.
To add to a previous review, the social atmosphere in the restaurant is extremely unprofessional. I went in two times, and each time they were having loud conversations with other customers in line or with their coworkers. Adding to the fact that this is not a Mexican Restaurant and does not provide the atmosphere or quality of food that a real Mexican Restaurant would. To top it all off, what ultimately broke the straw on the camel's back was them encouraging a customer to look into their giant kitchen stove with...
Read moreOrdered 2 breakfast burritos to go. Went and paid for my order and confirmed of my order when I got there. They told me my food was ready and handed it to me. I got home and the entire order was wrong. Someone else’s order completely. I called to inform them that it was wrong. I didn’t want to drive the 20 min back to get it corrected since we were leaving town. I told them I wanted them to know because of whoever’s order I was given. No I’m sorry nothing. Then I receive a call back saying that I never paid for my order to begin with and I got a lot of money in food for the order I received. I told her I did pay for the food I ordered and signed my receipt. She found it and said the order I received was way more expensive. I told her I didn’t want the food. She asked what should we do. I told her I’m not driving back over and she said she was sorry. She was SO rude about it, like it was my fault. I called back to tell them I didn’t appreciate that I was the one blamed for this. I paid for my food and wanted my order and they didn’t pay attention and gave me the wrong order and that is not my fault. He told me that it was their fault and he was sorry then followed that with “I hope you enjoy the food because it’s more money than what you ordered” I told him I didn’t want the food and he stressed I should give it to someone?? LEARN SOME CUSTOMER SERVICE. THIS WAS YOUR FAULT. GIVE PEOPLE THE RIGHT ORDER....
Read moreExtremely disappointed with the conversation taking place inside of the establishment while I am eating my lunch. It's 12:00 noon on a Thursday June 30th. And a regular it seems like because the waitress greeted her my name walked in and all of a sudden they were both having a very loud conversation about nobody wanting to work these days and how they must have missed the government train when it went around. Completely disgusted by this conversation.
I teach up at Red Rocks Community College and I understand the struggle of American workers, and that includes Lakewood workers, who are not getting paid what they should be paid in order to eke out a living. And to hear such ignorant conversation about people not wanting to work? Going on in this establishment where customers are here eating? Completely uncool. Especially because I just asked them what their starting wages here and they said...
