So I took a vacation from making reviews but I needed to respond to this request:
I find the McDonald's culture mostly disgusting for a lot of reasons but yet I return rarely. Why is that? Here's my reason and it's shameful to be honest with you: Convenience.
I travel a lot, sometimes to other countries. I remember clearly once in Prague, CZ when I met other travelers from New Zealand and Australia, they invited me to grab a bite and asked if I wanted "American food"? I was stumped and asked "what's American food" and they looked at me crazy because I genuinely didn't know what was categorized as American food. They said "McDonald's". I replied to them that I don't even touch "American food" in America because it's the last "non-nutritional to benefit" garbage I'd willingly consume. Secondly in my experience over the decades, they pump out so much volume per day and sometimes have less than desirable competency in staff. I'm honestly afraid of what I order when I am caught there once in a great while. I never know who handles my food, how their hygiene is or the quality of the food itself. The food, it's full of sugars, fillers and artificial additives and fried in grease. Have you ever ate the French fries there after they cooled a bit? It's not natural at all!!! I can eat leftover homemade fries from a previous day no problem but 10 minute+ old McDonald's fries are utterly sickening. Chicken nuggets are nothing resembling the natural fibers of the birds meat. It's mechanically seperated and re-binded leftovers combined with artificial ingredients you can't find in grocery stores anywhere. Then you're lucky if 1 out of 3 times that your order is presented to you 80% correct.
Why do I go there? Sometimes I just want coffee and don't want to pay $4-$5+ at Starbucks or other boutique coffee shop. Is the coffee good at McDonald's? It's not the best (not even close), but it does the trick when nothing else is around and you want a convenient drive through...
Read moreThis is from an experience I had just now. January fourteenth at 11:05 pm
I went to the drive through and nobody answered. So I pulled up to the window and asked if I could set the order there. The young man at the window seemed very understanding and I had no qualms with him, I'm sure this happens from time to time when they get too busy. Or maybe their systems didn't sense my vehicle in the drivethrough Either way I don't care/didnt care its never interupted doing business with them before as anyone can simply pull forward and wait at the window
What are care about is the pediatric? The manager gave when he told his employee to just tell him to go back around, I wasnt going to play his games and drive back around to wait at the sign that obiously didnt sense my car before, nor would it make any differance other than to play the managers mind games
Furthermore there were absolutely NO vehicles in line behind me, especialy at 11pm so I could/would have excused this nonsense if I were causing an inconveniency to others, even if it wasnt my fault that they made me wait for 5 minutes at the signe and gave up by way of pulling foward, so since it wouldn't even cause a delay to just simply take the order at the window I am complaining here as I notice this store already had a 3 start average I shount expect much other than to let other shoppers know
I've been around McDonald's stores plenty Because I am a contractor who does repairs for many of their local stores including this one
And this has happened once or twice in the past. And i've never gotten this attitude before. I don't know if they somehow thought I was trying to pull a fast one? But how? Why? What am I getting from it? But what good would that do me?
So I left, Id rather get a bite elsewhere than to...
Read moreSo the line was hella long. I was in line for a good 5 to 10 minutes before i got to order. But that is to be expected on a Friday evening, at just about any fast food place. But once i got to the speaker box to order a very chipper D'Angelo, (apologies for any mispelling!) Greeted me and i provided my code! He greeted me as well!! And i was very thrilled!! He was charismatic and engaging. Really made me forget about the heat and the facts that I just waited a long time to talk to him. Then i fiiinally get to the paying window and have a very good conversation with Erik! (With a K!) Haha he makes sure my order is correct because there is sooo many people in line! (The interaction was so much more memorable than i can type) We wish eachother a great weekend and then I get to the window where i pick up my food and I get to meet D'Angelo!! He says "Hi! I took your order!" I ask for his name! And we dap up. And I am just ecstatic at this point simply because, It is so rare to have great interactions with any level of service workers in this day and age let alone in fast food during a huuuuge rush hour!!! Everyone had a great attitude and I was EXTREMELY pleased with my service today. Thank you for spreading some of your light onto us hangry people in the drive through. Yall dont get enough recognition for just being nice and genuine. I loved it!! We are all human and we need to appreciate the hard working people that make our day better by just living and coming into work that day. I am so grateful for Erik and D'Angelo for going into work today. They...
