Tamale Kitchen — Restaurant in Lakewood

As I'm writing this review I can't help but feel so disappointed in Tamale Kitchen!! I've been a regular customer for a good while now, and every time I come here I leave disappointed just as the last time. I like to support small businesses HOWEVER!! Yesterday was by far the worst service and food quality my family and I have ever received in Tamale Kitchen. We ordered thee breakfast and street style Tacos. The girl taking the orders wasn't paying attention first she charged us one price and then she charged us another price. We didn't question it. Before we could finalize our order she totaled the cost she even charged an extra bottle of coke that I didn't want. They took a while to get us our food and when we got our food, the quality was subpar (The Bacon was burnt so bad it disintegrated into crumbs, the eggs were so over cooked I needed a knife to cut my eggs!!!! The hash browns were soggy with grease) I couldn't even eat my food, I threw it away. When I mentioned it to the girl who took our order she said "Yeah, okay, I'll let the cook know," when I told her that I couldn't even eat my food. I explained to her the quality of food and why I refuse to go up to the counter and complain due to every time somebody complains about their mid-food quality or the orders taken incorrectly, the staff gets an attitude and become extremely rude, loud and aggressive. The girl was dismissive when I voiced my concern.

I paid nearly $50 dollars for this experience.

Tamale Kitchens inadequacy in their customer service etiquette, interpersonal skills, professionalism and the food service is unacceptable!! The girl at the counter didn't even apologize didn't even try to offer a resolution, at the very least I could have received an apology for Tamale kitchen serving such disgusting burnt low quality food or at the least a partial refund but they didn't even offer that. And why was the food ever even allowed to come out of the kitchen is beyond me. I highly emphasis - I DO NOT recommend Tamale kitchen not to my friends foes or family!!! This will be the last time we eat at Tamale kitchen, I only eat there because it's close and was convenient. Tamale kitchen isn't worth spending my money or dissatisfaction and disappointment hell it's not Authentic Mexican food, it's not even tex mex food it's barely above fast food...

Alright. I love this place. The food is amazing. The staff is professional. The location is right up the road from me. There’s plenty of times I find myself eating here. I like to buy green chili by the pint and add it to my eggs and potatoes in the morning. When it’s later, I go in and order a bunch of bean and cheese egg rolls. They’re phenomenal one of my favorite menu items. The only reason I won’t be giving a 5 star review is…for some reason if it’s within an hour to close they turn their phones off. On 2 separate occasions I call in to place my order and the phones just straight up don’t work. I see people walk in and pick up orders by name so I assume they have some type of online ordering system…but why do that and not take phone calls? I understand like if you’re only gonna take orders by walk-in or online ordering then at least give the customer a heads up. I don’t see any of that information posted on their website or on signs in the restaurant. One time, an hour to close, when I walked in to place my order…this lady straight up made me move so she could mop under me…I also thought that was kind of rude. So 4 stars for being delicious and professional between open to 8pm…if you’re gonna order an hour to close…get ready because they’re gonna make you walk in or place your order online…and try and mop under you while you wait for your...

I placed an order on DoorDash tonight at 8:30 p.m. and when I got to the store around 8:40 p.m. They told me they had already shut their tablets off and stopped taking orders for DoorDash. They told me to contact DoorDash for a refund that I'm now going to have to wait a week for which totally ruined my plans for tonight. Overall they have extremely poor customer service, they are so rude and ghetto and you can tell by the quality of the food to begin with that they don't really care about their jobs, just in it to get paid and go home early. They didn't even answer my multiple calls when I tried to place an order before 8:30. Be warned that if you try to call and order in or place an order through DoorDash which does not have their updated hours, you'll be ripped off because of them. All they had to do was turn their stupid tablet on, which was tied up in a takeout bag, but they couldn't bother because they are so lazy and apathetic. They would have seen that I got my order in on time and they should have made it instead of making me wait for my money back. I hate these stupid people. I just like green chili and they happen to be a block away from me. Oh well,...
