While my family has been customers of Tamales Moreno for years and I CRAVE these tamales my most previous experience wasn’t the best. My boyfriend and I bought $50 worth of food. We got 1/2 dozen red, 1/2 dozen green tamales within that order and when we got home the red tamales were not cooked all the way. The masa was runny, super soft, sticky and mushy. I took the remaining red tamales that I had and took them back to Moreno and once I was offered for the uncooked ones to be replaced of course I accepted because like I said, I crave these. Well when the employee hands me the new bag I open one tamal in front of her and the masa was more runny than the first batch! She calls her boss and the boss offered for her employee to turn on the steamer to finish cooking them but that would take 10-20minutes at this point I’m already super HANGRY and I ask for a refund for the half dozen and she proceeds to tell me that she can only refund me for 4 tamales because that’s all I brought back and that I should’ve brought back the pile of mush on my plate to get the full refund for the 1/2 dozen. Yes I could’ve waited (but I’m exhausted) and yes it’s only two tamales I didn’t get a refund for but I didn’t get what I wanted and that’s NOT good customer service to a customer who’s supported your business for years! Plus, if that whole batch of red tamales is undercooked, what’s going to happen...

There was one woman working the restaurant, cooking, taking orders, and handling Uber/Door Dash orders, all by herself, and when she came to counter to take my order, she had a huge smile and was so kind. It made all the difference.
I have delayed eating at Tamales Morenos for a very long time as my favorite place since childhood, Tamale Kitchen, is right across the street. I was in the area and looking for something a bit different, so I gave them a shot. I was not disappointed.
Yes, there was a wait, I am hoping they were just having staffing issues that day. As I mentioned, the woman working there was so pleasant, I have to mention that again.
I had a simply order, a chorizo breakfast burrito. It was fantastic. The green chili was great and everything was fresh and hot.
I am not sure how I am going to balance my love of their rival across the street and eating at Tamales Morenos, but I am going to have to figure something out as I really enjoyed it. This is a great intersection if you like...
Read moreMy Husband and I decided to try this location out for the first time and I have to say just walking in there very nasty negative attitude from the young lady at the counter to greeting and when I was ready to order I did let her know it was my first time there just to give me a second looked at there menu( very confusing by the way specially just being there for the first time) asked what was in the burritos and placed my order. I would of appreciated a little more customer service because I feel because of there interaction in the restaurant with her and the older lady there the food came out disgusting that was by far the worst breakfast burrito ever!! They were inedible so much potatoes no seasoning and to boot soggy inside and not fully cooked!!
I don’t reconnect this place to anyone!! Burritos will make you sick specially there potatoes concoction!! I have never been back and will never send anyone there to eat none of there food has flavor there tamales...
