I ordered menudo for Cinco. When I opened my two quarts of menudo I was shocked to see it didn't have hominy in it. I called the restaurant and asked about it. I was informed I had to ask for hominy when I ordered the menudo. I explained that I have never had to ask for hominy to put in my menudo. I asked why I wasn't asked at the time I ordered it if I wanted to add hominy. She couldn't really give me answer. So on to the cleanliness of the restaurant. As I waited for my food I saw a guy slicing meat and it was terrible. He had gloves on but he was wiping his hand on his pants, he grabbed a pan and touched the other employee on her shoulder, grabbed a knife and wiped it off with his hands. Never once changed his gloves. There is grease build up all around the cooking area of the stove and pots used. Kind of a disgusting situation to see as I waited outside on the stool for my menudo.
The menudo was expensive too. 17 dollars a quart and no hominy. I don't recommend this place even though it seems very popular, if you eat there and look around you will change...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been coming to this place for over 20 years and I love the food. Today I called in my same order that I usually get over the years which is two Lengua burritos and went and picked them up. When I got there she told me the price for my meal my jaw dropped ! they had raised up the price $5 per burrito. all the other burritos are $8.99 each and the lengua used to be that price as too. when I looked at the menu she showed me that they wrote in $13.99 With a marker over the old price. If they told me The price had increased that much on the phone I wouldāve got some thing else. these burritos are great but $15 per burrito is ridiculous came to over $32 after tax for two burritos. I will not be ordering that again at that price! I understand inflation and all but adding five dollars to a burrito and not letting the customer know before the order is not Cool.šµāš«( iām glad I didnāt order four or five like I have in the past) Itās been a few months since Iāve eaten here but the last time I ordered it was the old price so they must have just raised it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent to Taqueria El Sabres with my NCO for his last day at work. First time here, and Iām glad I came and tried it. From the outside, it looks like thereās no dine-in, but they actually have tables and chairs inside, plus bar stools outside.
Service was quick, and the server was courteous. I ordered the carne asada burritoātypical large size. Iāve had Mexican burritos in different states and countries, and this one stands out. I liked the moist, warm feel. It tasted freshly prepped with freshly cooked ingredients.
Giving it 4 stars. Only downside: the parking lot is tiny. If I come back and canāt find a spot, Iād be pissed. We parked at the store next door, even though it was clear we werenāt welcome to. Still did it anyway.
Highly recommend they invest in more parking spaces. Foodās worth it, but parking...
