Summary: okay burger but it's a little pricey. Everything else is oversalted, and they screw you on your drink.

It was okay, but my drink or lack thereof kind of soured my experience. I ordered a large Diet Dr Pepper, and it was all ice with the pop filled to 3/4 of the cup (so ice to the top of the cup and pop in after the ice to 3/4 of the height of the ice - at first I thought it was just ice because the pop was so far down all I could see in the cup was clear ice - I checked because it felt very light and thought they had to have forgotten to add the pop). Absolutely ridiculous when fountain pop is cheap. I had to fling some ice out of my cup, and it still got watered down really fast and was gone in a sip since I barely got anything but ice. If you're going to order a drink make sure to ask for no ice. I expect to have the pop at least to the top of the cup for a pricey large drink. It was a good thing I still had some coffee in my travel mug because the food was so salty I needed something to drink.

The chicken tenders were dry and too salty. The fried pickles had a good flavor but too much salt likewise with the fries. The burger was good (we had the special burger) but nothing special.

They also don't give you ketchup, and they mess up your order so don't drive away until you've verified you have everything because most likely you don't. I base that on my order missing half the items and reading other reviews with similar experiences.

Will I be back? Probably not. If I ever have to go to Lampasas again I'll visit the gas station next door or the Golden Chick...

*UPDATE! After 3 months, we're giving them another go, play by play... Don't burn me, guys!

Steady, but not slammed. Made our order. He didn't call it back... 😬😬😬

13 minutes later... YAY! It's here! These kids really are sweet.

+Tots are hottttt! +Sourdough burger is on point!

-There was actually an extra burger and fry that we didn't originally order. 🤔 -Fries are rubbery, like they've been sitting a while.

Over all, I give one star back, because they really are hard working, quick and polite. I think focusing on attention to detail is something that could serve the business well.*

Original Review: It pains me to write this, because I really like Storm's when they're on point. But, lately, they have consistently messed up our orders. My husband really hates coming here because the order will inevitably be wrong. When I suggested it, he said "you know they'll get it wrong." I told him I was sure they wouldn't. He said "okay. I guarantee they won't call the order back and at least half of our burgers will have something wrong with them. If I'm right, you have to write a review."

You can guess why I'm writing this review. 🙄 They didn't call the order back. There were onions where onions shouldn't be, no pickles where pickles were supposed to be, mayo on no-mayo steak sandwiches. 4/9 sandwiches were wrong. I quit. I'll come back without the hubs because I can't stand hearing "I...

My wife and I stopped in here on a Sunday for lunch. We ate as we stayed in the car at the drive-in portion of the restaurant... There is a sit-down picnic area as well. See pic. We ordered hamburgers and fries with a drink. The staff were keeping busy but service was acceptably prompt, and things are very reasonably priced. I had the Storms Special burger without cheese, which includes fries. My wife had a burger and spicy curly fries. We split a coke. My burger was delicious, quite large, with fresh condiments and served hot. My French fries were yummy, too. My wife's burger was tasty and so were the spicy curly fries. Total before tip was $17 and change. There is a restroom provided. Overall, we enjoyed the experience of an old fashioned drive in meal at reasonable prices, and recommend it. Lots of sweet treats like root beer floats etc. etc..are available for your indulgence if you're inclined.

It has been a long time since I've been here and I am so happy to say that nothing has changed!!! It was so good, good enough to rank higher than Whataburger in my book!!! For me that says a whole world of things!!! Luckily, my family and I are buying a house near by and we will be able to enjoy it more often. I got the Storm's special: triple meat, double cheese, and everything but Mayo (how a burger is suppose to be). The patties be are thin and cooked perfectly, so dang good!! I also enjoyed half an order of pickle chips and they were really good (not soggy like other peoples). They were nice and crispy and the pickle chips were cut thick. Very delicious and definitely will be back!!

First time. Passing through traveling. Friendly fast and accommodating. I got the sourdough burger meat was tasty thick good char, bun could've been better. Fries had a nice flavor deep fried nicely. In response to your wanting me to explain about the bun. Probably more of a personal thing. When I think of sourdough buns especially for burgers I see a bread type bun thats grilled to a toast type consistency. Your bun got soggy and started falling apart. NOTE it wasn't falling bad etc.. I could still eat it okay, but I think sourdough is more fine of a bun. So grilling it to a toast consistency makes it hold up better and I prefer that taste. I will be back when I travel that way.
