This visit was my first and LAST one. If I could've given it a zero rating, I absolutely would've. I ordered chicken and chili cheese fries and concluded that Wing Snob, without a doubt, has the BEST boneless and traditional/bone-in chicken wings in Lansing, Michigan, and it's just a short distance from Eastside - located at 3415 E. Saginaw St., Lansing, MI 48912. And for all your fish favorites, you're better off going to Seahouse Fish & Chicken, which is also a short distance from Eastside - located at 2418 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI 48912.
Further, the customer service was subpar. As I stood and waited at the front counter for my order, multiple employees came out from the back and made eye contact with me yet didn't bother to smile or greet me. My order-taker forgot to give me my drink, and I didn't realize it until I returned home, which is 40 minutes away from Eastside. I immediately called and spoke with Dylan - a manager - who said I could return to get my drink. I told him I resided too far to return, so he said he could give me a $3.00 store credit. I told him I wouldn't be returning and therefore wanted a refund - to which he said he couldn't give me. I told him that wasn't fair, so he got Randy, another manager, for me to speak with. Randy told me the same thing and offered to have the general manager, Deno, contact me when he arrived at 5:00 p.m. I asked Randy if Deno was definitely going to contact me, because I didn't want to have to end up calling back, and he assured me Deno would call me soon. This was at 4:55 p.m., and Randy said Deno would be in at 5:00 p.m.
At nearly 9:00 p.m., and in true unprofessional fashion (which I had anticipated), Deno hadn't contacted me, so I called back and asked to speak with Deno and was informed he wasn't there. Instead, I spoke with Antonio, another general manager who repeated what everyone else had told me earlier: I couldn't be refunded. He said I could email the owner, and when I asked for the owner's name, he said he didn't know it, which was outrageous bullshit! Antonio was rude, unprofessional, impatient, unapologetic (he never apologized for Deno not contacting me as promised), and mostly overtalked me. And he also had the audacity to place me on hold while I got pen and paper to write down the owner's email address as if I were inconveniencing him and not the reverse. It couldn't be clearer that Antonio is unfit (in every sense of the word) to be a manager, especially general manager.
In addition, the employees that handle the food don't wear hairnets, and Dylan, who has a long beard, doesn't wear a beard-net or covering. These are basic, common-sense food-safety practices that the owner and management should both be aware of and practicing.
Lastly, it's outrageous that Eastside buys its 5-star Google reviews. Printed at the bottom of its receipts is: "5 STAR REVIEW ON GOOGLE GET FREE SMALL SIDE". This is cunning and speaks VOLUMES about Eastside's business practices and credibility.

Over the summer I had the dissatisfaction of going to the East Side Fish Fry & Grill. Three things really stood out, the cleanliness of the establishment, the inability to get an order correct, and the incredible over-salting of the food.
Walking in the door, it was immediately obvious they probably couldn't pass a health inspection if given randomly. There were flies EVERYWHERE. Literally dozens, there was fly paper hanging in the lobby, coated in flies, there was fish not on ice in the cooler just laying there, leaking liquid, flies all over it. There was dead flies on the floor, stuck to the paper. I was quite honestly disgusted. Despite this, I persevered on good reviews.
I ordered fried chicken and fish, as it was suggested to me, as well as fries and deep fried Oreos. It took nearly 40 minutes of waiting for this to be done after I ordered it (there wasn't really a line in front of us, that's just how long it took). When I took the to-go order, I checked in the car and noticed the fish was missing, as was the Oreos that had been ordered. I went back inside and let them know, and waited another 20 minutes for the fish and Oreos to get made. When they finally gave us the container, I asked if everything was in there, they said yes.
Get home, they'd forgotten the Oreos. They clearly have zero system in place for ordering.
The first thing tried was the fries, they were fine, pretty hard to mess up honestly. If I had to guess they were pre-frozen fries they just fried. Nothing special. The fish was pretty good, still warm and I would recommend it (cat fish nuggets I believe). The last thing was the chicken, that they pride themselves in. It was oversalted to the point of almost being inedible. After scraping some seasoning off with a damp paper towel, it was okay, but VERY over cooked and dry. Either that, or the chicken was stored frozen and not fully thawed so it cooked unevenly, as the edges were dry, stringy and hard, but the inside was mostly fine.
I would not recommend this to anyone honestly, considering the hygiene issues, quality of the food, and the inability to get an order correct. I will not...
Read moreHad the following delivered from Eastside Fish Fry and Grille 12 piece fried chicken—terribly overcooked, dry, skin overcooked to point it had a burnt taste, ordered with house seasoning Fried Scallops—overcooked, dried out and stringy ordered with no seasoning Fried frog leg dinner—overcooked, stringy frog legs, fries were ok just a bit too greasy Fried alligator tail bites—again overcooked making them dried out, stringy, the fry batter was on the bites was very hard from being overcooked Crab cakes—a bit overcooked, had a good taste except for the fry batter on outside of cake ordered with no seasoning Fried Mac n cheese—good taste, still a bit overcooked. I’m think the taste is there, pretty cheesy ordered with no seasoning on outside. Cheese curds—overcooked little cheese left inside of batter casiing All the fried foods had an odd old kind of taste to them, like perhaps the oil needed changing or the fryer needed a thorough steam cleaning I was terribly disappointed. We had been really looking forward to these items. With the service fee, delivery charge, and tip I spent $166.98. We hardly ate any of it. My daughter tried to eat two pieces of alligator bites before she gave up due to how bad it tasted. My son-in-law had half of a frog leg, set it down then tried another and gave up due to the taste, dryness, and stringiness. My scallops were inedible. I tried four different pieces before I gave up The only reason I gave them two stars is because the portion sizes were very nice. I ordered this at 4:30 pm in the afternoon on a Thursday. You wouldn’t think they would lose track of frying times that early in the evening...
