Wow great food. Wonderful service. Friendly atmosphere. Our first time visiting and we were impressed. Had the Friday Fish Fry and it was terrific. Fish was cooked just right, the batter was light and tasty, the fries were as expected and the cole slaw very good - not a sweet creamy dressing but a vinegar based nicely seasoned delight. We also had the pork chops and they were moist and flavorful, as were the fries and green beans. Even had dessert, a lemon mascarpone cake that was unexpectedly delicious. We each ordered our own piece rather than sharing and we were glad we did. This is a former "shop bar" and while it is not fancy, it is comfortable and pleasant. They are even saving the planet one straw at a time using paper straws. Hurrah for them. We were waited on by the owner and his son who cared about the restaurant and its guest. By the way this is oldest family run restaurant in Lansing. Can't wait to...

I was not very impressed with this bar at all. After hearing so many good reviews about this place, I had very high hopes. We walked into the bar and waited 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. We ordered a drink from a older lady who couldn't have looked any more displeased to be serving us. The long island that I got was horrendous by the way...my friends and I finished our first drink and waited at least twenty minutes for our waitress to come by and ask us for another drink!! Keep in mind that she was serving other tables at this point....We finally decided to walk up to the bar for another drink and the first thing that this bartender does is stare at us coldly with no smile and say "the bar will be closing in thirty minutes." ARE YOU KIDDING ME PEOPLE?!? I'm coming to your establishment to spend money....at least PRETEND like you want me there. I will never be coming back...

The restaurant was busier than expected at 5 Pm on a Tuesday. I brought my friend for a birthday celebration and she had never been there before. The menu offered lots of options that all sounded delicious! I chose smelt and my guest chose a hot turkey sandwich. Her potatoes looked real with lumps and they were piled high on her plate. She also had an ample portion of hot turkey with thick gravy. I enjoyed my 10 pieces of smelt. They were mostly big enough to get 2 bites out of each smelt. The tartar sauce seemed like straight Mayo because there were no pieces of pickles or relish. Cole slaw was my side. It is reportedly made in house daily. The portion was ample and the slaw was colorful. It was said to be a creamy base but I didn't find anything creamy. The Cole slaw was a bit disappointing. All in all, it was great food in a nice...

According to the menu and online reviews the place is over 100 years old. It is a nice neighborhood bar. As some reviewers have said service could be more enthusiastic but that doesn't mean they aren't friendly. It would be nice to have a sign at the front saying please seat yourself. It seemed like a family owned kinda place to me. As for food I tried their Greek burger and I thought it was just average but not bad. The best thing truly is the pretzel bread with cheese. The pretzels are long and breaded unlike typical "bites" which tend to dry out and get chewy. These came out hot and could be picked apart like monkey bread and the inside was soft and delicious. I'd get those and a beer for snack sometime as it is worth it. I also like the glasses with the name of the place on it. It is old fashioned and classy.

Tacos were delicious. Went back yesterday and ordered their Cabbage Rolls to go. Fantastic supper tonight. 10/31/23 Enjoyed their meatloaf dinner tonight. It hit the spot with our 1st snowfall coming down. 7/18/24 Met my friends for dinner. I ordered the 12" Meat Lovers and a tall Long Island ice tea. Perfect dinner! 12/06/24 Met friends for dinner. I had their hot Turkey Sandwich on Texas Toast with Mashed Potatoes & Gravey. My wife enjoyed a Philly Beef & Cheese with Deep Fried Mushrooms. We were both filled up nicely. 03/05/2025 I finally tried their Reubon Sandwich and my second time with Sweet Potato Tots. It's just fabulous along with a long island ice tea. Great company made the evening great!

Tried them for the first time for takeout Excellent service, after that we fell off the cliff Fries arent made fresh but are frozen and were hollow! See 2 pictures I think their supplier is selling them the cheapest fries with paltry potato filling Last disappointment was the olive burger my husband LOVES olive burgers but couldn't eat this one--olive sauce too salty, could tell the patties are frozen not fresh and the bun was HARD. Pictured is him trying to salvage some of the burger to have a dinner First time here. frozen food no reason to come back which is sad because we wanted to like Harry's was looking for a close bar with food to catch some football+food in the fall. Just not to be....
