I order $20 worth of food. Chicken strips & fries combos. They ask what sauce? I replied ā€œspicy mayonnaise dipā€. I asked for 2 sauces for each meal. (1 for my fries/1 for my chicken tenders) I get to the window, I check the bag: they gave me one sauce per meal. I inform them they are missing sauces. They replied: that will be $2 for more sauces. I tell them no thanks I already asked for this on the speaker and you’ve already swiped my card /paid for the food I ā€œsupposedly orderedā€. No where on their menus either in person or online does it say customers are charged for sauces for their food when asked. So they have been charging customers without their knowledge for their choice of sauces this entire time? They don’t give you a receipt either, so it’s not like you would know IF you are being charged. This is simply called stealing from customers. You are charging them for something they have no knowledge of. You do not advertise this on the menu, prices for sauces that SHOULD come with the meals you sell. I’m not asking for extra, if I have fries..ppl want ketchup. If I have tenders..ppl may want more ketchup or bbq or whatever sauce of their choosing. The young girls working today were petty. So I’m letting everyone know how absolutely ridiculous this place can be. Find better workers, ones without attitudes. Maybe inform customers of prices so they KNOW they are being charged. Give customers receipt of sells. Robbery at its finest. Good luck selling chicken tenders WITHOUT sauce.

I gave Olympic Broil 5 stars not too long ago. But the last few times, I have had to take my food back inside because of QUALITY. Today, June 26, 2024 4:33pm, I ordered a ham wrap with no mayo. I ordered it as a combo, fries, and drink. Today, this is what I got. See photos. The fries were barely luke warm, and the wrap looked like it went thru the wringer. The wrap used to be thicker. Now it's paper thin. I went inside and asked if the owner was in. He wasn't. A manager (older woman) came out and asked what the problem was (obviously, not obvious). I told her my fries were cold...and I did show her the sandwich, just as in the pictures. She said, "What's wrong with it?" I told her that it was all beat up and barely warm. I knew she was going to argue. 🤨 she then tells me the entire process of how the wraps are made, WITH hand rolling demonstration 🤣 ...I let her know that the last time I had a wrap look like that, the owner had a new one made. I am surprised that the owner would let the food go out in this condition. Mike would be embarrassed. She didn't care. It's too bad that Olympic Broil's quality is going downhill. Maybe the employees behave that way when he isn't there? I'm not sure. But I do know that the owner has/had pride in the food. What happened? 🄺 If I ever see the owner there, maybe on car show night, I am going to tell him he needs to read these reviews. I don't think he reads them, or if he does, he doesn't care.

As I’m moving to the area from Detroit I was looking for a good quick affordable burger and fries, I had seen this establishment pop up in my google search a few times but had yet to try it, I am so happy I did, upon pulling into the location I was pleasantly surprised by the vintage 50’s/60s design the building obviously was a car hop eatery of sometime from the moment it was built, once I entered the building it was like I traveled back in time and the days of simplistic bright welcoming 80s fast food vibes warmed my soul, while the digital menu boards and self serve kiosk stick out in the vibe of the vintage it’s understood since Covid many restaurants were left in a upgrade and adapt life or go out of buisness it’s understood why in 2024 it’s the best option, anyway the menu prices are what stood out the first, the food was actually affordable! The selection was plentiful, from burgers and fries to wraps, onion rings and fish. The packaging of the food is what hit home the most! Having the fries in a wax paper bag with the stores logo on it made me feel like a child again, the burgers wrapped as if it was 1988 again, my burger was hot, fresh and juicy, the fries hot, crispy and salty. If you want to go back in time and feel what it was like before everything became muted colors and joyless (Like McDonald’s) Olympic Broil is the place to go! Impeccable customer service, clean store, great food and amazing prices! Can’t wait to go back!

Today, we went to eat at Olympic Broil.

We had just enough money for the food & gas w a little extra to spare.

They charged us for an extra $7 fry we didn’t order.

Okay. Let’s get that fry refunded.

While my fiancƩ is inside, I get a notification we just spent ANOTHER $9. On top of the $7 we just paid for the extra fry.

They said they sent our money back to us and the $8 is for our meal. Except we hadn’t gotten any money back, only says we spent money twice here.

Then, they claimed once the manager was in they said they’d refund the $9 to make up for the whole mess.

However, they must not have made sure of that cause when I came to ask about that, I kept getting told what they just did.

This part annoyed me a bit. I asked ā€œWell we were just told we were getting the full refund, that’s all.ā€ She kept saying over and over how I WAS getting a full refund, while also explaining how I’m still PAYING the $9.

So…. It’s a partial refund?

She keeps saying nope, it’s a full refund.

….. a full refund is full. Meaning I wouldn’t be paying any money.

Just annoyed me how she could’ve just said it straight out that she’s only willing to do a partial refund. But kept twisting the numbers around to sound like I was getting this full refund, when it clearly is partial.

Made me feel like she thought I was dumb and was just gonna accept what she was saying.

Atp like don’t play w my mind saying I’m getting something I’m clearly not 😭

Anyways we left there with $0 to our name. When we were supposed to have like $16 for gas.

They said it can take 2 days for it to come back to the card. We will literally be paid from my fiancƩs work by then. Smfh.

The food was good I guess but who cares? I was too stressed about my survival I ate it pretty rushed...

Recap: The owner's behavior makes me personally not want to step foot in there again. UPDATE: Called my bank and got my money back! They also charged me a couple of cents for the wrong order BUT that was also refunded by my bank :-]

I loved going to Olympic Broil and the food was always great! But I had a bad experience here today 3/31/22. So our issue was that we only had a small amount of money to spent in our account and we got charged for another person's order( who spent more money than us). I didn't want my card to get in the negative/ get overdrafts.

The cashier lady reversed the order but I also wanted to cancel my current order( just to make sure I didn't overspend/get overcharged in my account because sometimes reversals can take a while) everything was fine/ we were all calm and no one was irate, however the restaurant owner proceeds to confront us out of nowhere and call me and my dad demeaning things like "children, who can't do math and don't understand anything" I'm not sure why he was trying to instigate a fight with me and my dad out of the blue by saying rude things to us when we were just asking for a refund for a $8 order.

Luckily me and my dad didn't take the bait and ignored his instigation/ didn't stoop to his name-calling level.

If you are the owner reading this I hope you reflect on your behavior and do better next time. I have been going there for over a decade/ live in a nearby area with no issues and never been rude to any of your employees. But this for me was enough to personally not step foot in...

Is it me or has OB just not been what it used to be? The last few times I have gone here it was not hitting the way it did back in the day. However, the very last time I went here was my worst experience here ever. Not only did I not receive my proper order but when I called to make them aware of the situation it took 5 days to get a call back to tell me what they could potentially do. Which wasn't to much of anything. Had I not had other engagements the day they messed my order up, I simply would have taken the food back and got a full reimbursement. I also did not realize that the food I was given was incorrect until I made it close to my destination. I'm not local to Lansing so why would I waste gas and time driving back out for a $3 reimbursement (according to owner or whoever Mike is) I was told that I got more food than what I paid for. No, actually I didn't. I paid for what given to me in the bag. It just was not MY order. It was really just a weird situation I've never encountered with them.

On the flip side, if anyone has experienced the same issues I have and you only go there specifically for the chicken fingers... i have a recipe for chicken fingers that tastes the exact same as the battered tenders they serve there. Fraction of the cost. And tastes better. Let me know if you are interested in getting my recipe. I've used it for years and my tenders don't come out soggy and greasy. They come out crispy and delicious. I've not ordered a chicken tender from there in over 5 years. Why pay for something I can make...
