Gave it two stars because the food was good and a gentleman who I assume was the owner was very kind and was making small talk with us which was nice. However, the waitress ruined our whole experience and we won't be back because of her. She seemed miserable the whole time, not welcoming or friendly at all.

I used to be a server so I know sometimes you just have bad days but this waitress was giving us stank faces and an attitude the whole time for no reason. For example my cousin was ordering and she was talking over us loudly to ask her questions with an attitude. My sister then asked her if she could have avocado on her sandwich instead of tomato and she gave her a look like are you dumb, shook her head no, and gestured for her to hand her the menu. Food came out she never checked on us.

Then she puts us all on one bill so my sister asked if she can split it and again she gave her a stank face and agreed like it was a hassle. Check was split and then she tells us its cash only. I feel like that should have been mentioned when we sat down especially when their ATM charges you $3. So whatever I'm already annoyed she was giving us an attitude the whole time for no reason so we come back and yes did leave a tip but it wasn't 20% (not after her awful service). And as we put the money on the table she had her boss come over as she stood behind him again with a miserable look on her face I'm assuming to have him check that we paid it all or tipped her or whatever.

Obviously the customer service here is a problem from reading below and I encourage the owner to address how his employees treat...

Dune Deck Café in Lantana, FL, is the kind of place that effortlessly balances laid-back charm with great food and a view that just doesn’t quit. I stopped by recently for lunch, and it was a reminder of why this spot has stayed a local favorite for years.

The meal kicked off with a plate of clams that were everything you want them to be—plump, flavorful, and clearly fresh. Next came shrimp that had just the right snap, the kind that makes you pause and appreciate the fact that nothing here feels rushed or pre-made. Both were perfectly prepared, letting the natural flavors shine.

For the main course, I went with the fish and chips. Classic, sure, but when it’s done this well, it feels like a luxury. The fish was golden and crispy on the outside, tender and flaky on the inside. Paired with fries that managed to hit that elusive sweet spot between crispy and fluffy, it was simple but satisfying.

What really ties the Dune Deck together is its atmosphere. Sitting there, looking out at the Atlantic, you realize how rare it is to find a place that’s unpretentious yet still delivers on quality. The staff is attentive without hovering, and the prices feel refreshingly reasonable for a waterfront spot.

After all these years, Dune Deck hasn’t lost what makes it special: a commitment to doing things right without overcomplicating them. It’s a great reminder that sometimes, all you need is a view, a breeze, and food that’s fresh and made to order.

If you haven’t been in a while—or ever—it’s worth stopping by. Some places just know how to get it right, and Dune Deck is definitely...

Stunning views - you cannot get a better location. Right next to the beach with gorgeous views of the sea. Bear this in mind as it is covered but you will be at the mercy of the elements (read: wind). We had actually first visited in 2015 and had had a 5 star experience - fresh crab claws for a VERY reasonable price. Excellent service and glorious weather. We were passing by again and decided to try our luck again. The staff were relatively friendly - we were close to 4:30pm closing but they still let us order however, we felt we were constantly rushed to eat, drink, pay and leave which was a real shame. The restrooms this time were filthy - I think it being so close to closing didn't help much. Food was a lot more limited than before (again could have been due to time of day, but there was no evidence of fresh seafood on the specials board so maybe they don't do that anymore?) - tried the shrimp and lobster flatbread which was tasty but very greasy and VERY garlicky. Overall we were a tad disappointed hence the drop to 3 stars. One star taken off for rushing us (if you say you're still open and will take an order you should treat your guests as you would if they'd arrived at any other time you'd been open). One star off for...

Now this restaurant really has some spectacular views of the water. If you're looking for some ocean views, then this really checks that box off. Really has those vacation vibes. Our waitress was kind enough to move us to a table right by the edge closest to the water. We ordered some cocktails to kick off our beachy lunch. I had the Dune Deck's Lemonade (vodka, blue curacao, lemonade) which was okay. Downside is that the ice melts and makes the drink watery. So halfway through the drink wasn't as tasty anymore. But thats Florida for you. For entree I got the fish and chips and I was shocked with the portion sizes. The portions were HUGE!! I had 4 pieces of fried fish with fries, a side of coleslaw and a pickle! It was quite a lot of food. The fish was delicious. It was fried perfectly and had really good flavor. The fries were also great. And the coleslaw had a delicious taste. The pickle was slightly soggy. Could've done without that on the plate tbh. Also parking is very easy! Large parking lot with pay-by-phone. So it’s pretty easy to find a spot. Overall pretty good place to have some drinks and food with a nice view!
