Charlie's Corona Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Laredo

Looking for a place to eat dinner on our first night in Laredo, on Black Friday no less, I came across Charlie's. Driving up to it is a little intimidating. There are bars on every window and a bit rundown down but the parking lot had a ton of cars. That speaks volumes! We were greeted and told we could sit anywhere, other than reserved spots since there was a band starting at 8pm. The band was a huge plus. They brought chips and salsa and we ordered some margaritas. Just a note, they don't do Cadillac. The were good, not great. Same with the Pina Colada. My husband ordered the crispy tacos and I the tres enchiladas with a salad. The salad was all iceberg lettuce with an interesting dressing with a tangy flair. The enchiladas were good but the beans dried out. My husband wasn't crazy about the tacos. We stayed for the band which consisted of one guy. Regardless, he was fun and did all genres of music. Look at my plate of food and tell me does it taste as good as it looks?...Its better! Two reasons, the taste brought me to my childhood memories dining with my parents in the 1970s when there were once actual steak houses and $14.99. Where else are you going to get a Ribeye, shrimp , baked potato , and a side salad for $14.99. I'll tell you, in Laredo Texas.

If your visiting Laredo this is a must stop to eat, the food is how food looks and should taste. Also on weekends there's always a live band playing to work off the steak and beer .

It's my first night here in Laredo and pretty much I'll be returning here till I return home. I'm not going to find a better...

This restaurant has always been one of my local favorites, and its history here in Laredo is something to admire. However, I was disappointed during my recent visit. The quality of the food seems to have diminished. I ordered a steak and specified my preferred temperature, but it arrived significantly overcooked.

To make matters worse, it was my birthday, and I had chosen this restaurant to celebrate with a party of 10. Unfortunately, none of the steaks were cooked properly. It was frustrating, especially on such a special occasion.

I want to support local businesses, so I may give this place another chance in the future, but definitely not on a big...
