Suarez Restuarant — Restaurant in Laredo

Suarez looks like a snack shop in the corner of a run down plaza with horrible parking. The lot is shared with another restaurant. The place is considerably larger than it looks from the outside. I am not going to sugar coat it, the chairs need replacing and some the vinyl was ripped. They also could use a wiping down. The plywood and 2x4 tables were sturdy and ok looking but could use a fresh coat of varnish and urethane. Now what it lacked in ambiance it made up for in taste.

The food is AMAZING! I can't believe I have lived in Laredo for 15 years and I am just discovering this place! I like the coolers with the vegetables. I was surprised to learn that this place is also a meat market in the back.

I ordered 2 sausage, 2 brisket, 3 fajita, a side of Charro Beans, and a manzanita. Total was around 30.

The tacos are considerably larger than others and were fill quite full of meat. Good value. Buy some extra tortillas and turn your 1 taco into 2!

This place is not that good to merit the rating it has. First, it feels cramped and dirty in there. The menu plastered all over the wall is tacky and it makes the place feel smaller. Second, the service is terrible! We saw our server perhaps 2 maybe 3 times in the 90 we were there. And then we waited so long of the mediocre food. The milanesa was over cooked, over seasoned and way too thick to be milanessa! It was so over seasoned I had terrible heartburn. I don't understand how you mess up suck a simple dish! Oh and then I wasn't served the fries with the plate. They were given to me about 20 after. And oh man!!!! Why are those fries so thick. Thick cuts of potato like that will not crisp up, they'll just "boil" in the outer crust. Who trained theses cooks??? The only good thing there is the price! 15.00 person is a great price. So is you want cheap and dirty this is the place. The parrilladas are great in all honesty! Perhaps I'll give this place another go, but they need to make some changes to those sides as well. If the viejitos like it then then place must be good. I personally like the food here, their enchiladas americanas are amazing. The service from here waitress is excellent but she needs to be helped because she cannot handle all the people both inside and outside. This time I visited I tried the outside patio and the tables were all covered in dirt, and after telling the gentleman behind the cash register if we could get someone to clean our table twice during the half hour we where waiting to get service nobody came. I think he is the son of the owner or the manager that was told the second time around and nothing so after the 40 min window passed we regrettably had to leave.
