The people that are saying they have gone to this restaurant for 20 years and it's great food desperately need to try better Asian cuisine. The owner is very nice, I agree. But the food is terrible. I don't ever feel the need to give a bad review but it's literally the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Way worse than the mall. I ordered a quart of the hot and sour soup. A small chicken and pork fried rice and some spring rolls to go. The owner packaged it up in a brown bag practically overflowing in the bag. I secured it nicely in the center console area of my car and headed home. After skipping lunch I was starving by this point at 8:00 pm. The bag still securely sitting in the center next to me, I reached in to grab a spring roll. Had to reach down to the bottom and realized the soup was spilling everywhere. At first I thought maybe she must have put it in a typical Chinese food container. But then I felt a plastic container (it's dark in my car at this point). I pull over to a side street and take the soggy bag out of my car. The soup was way too hot for the cheap plastic container and it literally melted the lid of the container so the fried rice that was sitting on top of it, slid into the soup container causing the soup to pour out the top. I now have soup all over the carpet, all through the cup holders and all through all the tiny creases in my car. Again I'm still starving. I get home and finally able to try this food and it's horrible! The meat is questionable. The flavor is odd. The spring rolls were just plain gross. This food belongs in the trash which is exactly where I put it. Don't waste your money....
Read moreWe've ordered from this restaurant for several years and the food is generally good. Once or twice I've had something that wasn't up to par and they've always made it right. The last few times I've ordered I noticed the quality of their beef has gone WAY DOWN to the point it is inedible. It is tough, chewy, and full of gristle. On top of that the portions are very skimpy. To make matters worse, the cost has gone up even though the quality is crap. I decided to stick with chicken. My order last week was Mongolian chicken; I received beef instead: a chintzy amount of tough stringy beef. I added the scallions to my son's meal, shared his and ate the rice. I figured I would let the restaurant know next time I ordered. Well, I ordered tonight and instead of making it right (even after acknowledging they sent me beef instead of chicken) I was offered either an egg roll or $2 off my $26 order. Needless to say, I didn't find that fair. Suffice to say I decided to take my business elsewhere, not an easy decision after 5 or 6 years, but customer loyalty should be worth something. My advice to any newcomer DON'T ORDER BEEF it will only make you angry and disappointed. And don't expect them to extend anything of worth by way of compensation for a bad order; money means more to them than...
Read moreWe have eaten here many times in the past and have always enjoyed the food but this is our second bad experience. We ordered 5 different meals - the General Taos chicken is very tasty and is a generous portion however there is no extra sauce in the meal making it too dry to eat with rice. My real complaint was the veggie chow fun, which was sadly lacking in veggies and definitely the Shrimp chop suey. The chop suey was mainly tough, green leafy vegetables, had no mushrooms, no water chestnuts, only a couple carrots, couple bamboo shoots and very few bean sprouts - not what I expect from chop suey at all. See picture below. One of our other dishes was the beef and broccoli - quite tasty but the container was far from full and had significantly more broccoli in it than anything. I can understand that their may be shortages but I would of appreciated being filled in on that fact, thus giving me the option to order something else or go somewhere else. We were not informed of any changes, issues when we called the order in, or when we picked it up nor did we notice anything online or on the door to advise us we may not get what we are expecting. Guess we will have to start trying out some other Chinese...
