This is a great old school family restuarant with a classic diner feel. It is located in the middle of the county near where two significant roadways cross each other. (U.S. Hwy 19 and Eastbay Drive.) The place was fresh and clean and had plenty of seating. The menu was diverse and had plenty of choices for just about anything someone would want. They had a better selection of appetizers than most restuarants have. An example would be Wisconsin cheese curds, Jumbo fried pickle spears, and Whiskey battered onion rings. The onion rings were amazing! They have daily specials. They have family specials. I ordered their Smash Burger, fries and coleslaw slaw. The burger was good but it was not an authentic smashed burger. The fries were very good and I liked the coleslaw. The waiter Juan was absolutely awesome and brought me everything I asked for quickly and with the best attitude. The food I ordered was brought out quickly and was piping hot. I liked this place. This would be a great place to come to for a change in venue and explore the menu for homemade items that knocked your socks off. To find something good to eat that you wont or can't make at home or find it anywhere else out at a restuarant. I recommend this as a place to go for a change in scenery or choice.

Parking in premises. This looks like a regular dinner, with dinner decor, prices and service. Families come for breakfast and talk to the friendly staff as if they are close friends and see each other every day. This also looks like is a family owned and operated business. the food come out fast and the coffee was hot. I did have a bit of weird response to their coffee but prob was my system and I don't feel that there was anything wrong with their coffee at all. MONTE CRIST SANDWICH- my bf ate that and this is his favorite meal here, he loved as always and had only good things to say abut it. STEAK AND EGGS- this one is usually a hit or miss in paces, specially diner like places. I asked for medium well steak and got a well steak so it was pretty rubbery and the eggs were also over had more than over medium, it was a pity because the meal looked pretty good and the serving size here is pretty generous. This is not a particularly impressive diner and this is my second experience with diners in the area and I am not impressed with any of them so far, so diners are no the Floridians Forte I musts so far.

Arriving in Florida for the 4th of July week, the family had been up since 3:30 am to catch an early flight, and the three boys had not eaten so I feared they might attack the air flight attendants for the pretzels, especially the three year old. We landed in Tampa and made our way to our resort in Clearwater. As we drove to the resort, I heard an awkward noise coming from the rental and it was the noise of the three young ones starving. I observed a non franchise restaurant and pulled over to eat to ensure my three little angels didn't starve to death. Their is plenty of parking in the area and the restrooms are located as you enter the establishment. It was early in the day so breakfast was at hand for the family. We ordered French toast, chicken fried steak and eggs, eggs for the little one, breakfast skillet and my odd ball oldest had a burger. Look this place has a traditional breakfast taste like a Lubbys or Village Inn. Our server was friendly and the food portions were large and tasted good. For $53 and tip it was a good first stop in Florida

The experience that I had here was quite disappointing. My boyfriend & I visited this establishment on July 22, 2024. I wanted to treat him to shrimp & grits (which is his favorite breakfast) for his birthday. We aren’t from Florida so I had to use Google to figure out which establishment would peak our interest. I came across the Country Skillet & the pictures of their shrimp & grits looked amazing! We grabbed our belongings so fast & sped there out of excitement. As we entered we were greeted & shown to a table immediately which was a good start. Our waitress came to take our order & I told her that I’d like the Orleans French Toast. She asked me would I like syrup with the French toast & made me aware that it would be moist due to all of the toppings. I told her yes that I’d like syrup & once I said that, she turned & looked to my boyfriend & said, “Oh she’s looking to have a heart attack. She’s asking for a heart attack.” HOW DISRESPECTFUL! Especially because she asked me if I’d like syrup. Why ask if you’re going to belittle me when I say yes? I felt so uncomfortable & embarrassed after she said that. So I told her not to worry about the Orleans French Toast & to just bring me regular french toast with syrup. In that moment I really wanted to get up & leave but I stayed due to not wanting to ruin my boyfriend’s request for shrimp & grits. We went pretty late in the afternoon & all the other places in Clearwater that served that specific dish were closed. Which brings me to my next issue. My boyfriend proceeded to order stating that he wanted the Louisiana shrimp & grits. The waitress repeated what he said as he was ordering to confirm. She said, “The Louisiana shrimp & grits? Okay.”’Upon bringing the food out we noticed potatoes underneath his shrimp. So I told the waitress about it & she said, “Yea he ordered the Louisiana, that comes with potatoes not grits.” I made her aware that he told her that he wanted the Louisiana shrimp & grits & that if it came with potatoes she should have corrected him & made him aware that the Louisiana option was potato based. & she said that she thought he just made a mistake with his wording as he was ordering. If you thought that he made a mistake why not ask additional questions for a clear understanding instead of assuming so that we don’t have any issues? The menu was very misleading when it came to explaining the difference between the Louisiana & the regular shrimp & grits. So I told her that we’d like for it to get remade & she said that she’d have to speak to a manager. Before she left to speak to the manager I asked for butter for my grits & never received it. I waited so long for it to the point where my grits turned cold so I didn’t eat them. Upon speaking to the manager we got the shrimp & grits issue fixed & the manager was very nice when bringing it out. But her as a waitress was very disappointing. This visit wasn’t enjoyable at all. She definitely ruined the entire experience for both my...

My wife and I before the pandemic would go here often, and throughout the pandemic, we have utilized mobile ordering and continued to give Country Skillet our business.

I do not have a problem with the food, it is delicious, nor the cleanliness, it is clean, nor the selection, there is quite a variety.

What I do have a problem with. Today, when my wife and I ordered our breakfast and had it delivered to the house. There was an understandable discrepancy, the dish she ordered (The Country Skillet Breakfast Sandwich) was advertised to come with home fries, and it didn't. That's not the problem, the problem was when my wife called the store to inquire about it. The woman that initially answered, I assume to be the owner, or owner's wife, or sister, or even a manager. Immediately said to my wife and quite rudely, "I do not have time for this!" then pushed the phone off on another woman named Alisha.

Alisha, you were wonderful, helpful, understanding and quite empathetic and patient with my wife when she explained her confusion to which you gave a satisfactory and understandable answer. Apparently, Door Dash is incorrectly advertising the side that goes with that dish. We won't fault that.

However, to whomever was so rude to my wife. Absolutely unacceptable, and if you are going to tersely cut someone off, then pawn them off on another employee, or your employee, at least have the decency to mute the phone, or speak more quietly. That left a seriously bad impression for us and how much our business is actually appreciated. For a couple that has been going there and regularly making it our breakfast stop, or choice, for years. It came quite as a shock to the otherwise warm reception we...

Another update a few months later: new owners who are very nice and kept the same food. They redecorated and it's much much nicer than it used to be. Sheena was our server today and she was AWESOME! We will keep coming back. This restaurant us a staple for us and just keeps getting better after all these years.

My son and I have been going to a new breakfast restaurant every weekend for the last few months and we have our favorites but Country Skillet blew them all out of the water. The food was sooooooo good, fairly priced, and fast. We loved our server, Juan, and will be asking for him when we return. Management came and asked how everything was and you can tell they really care about your experience. It really is a family restaurant and they even have a little library for the kids to enjoy and keep them busy. We had a great time looking for different objects in a where's waldo type book. We highly recommend visiting Country Skillet! Great job to the staff!

-5 years later and this is still our favorite breakfast restaurant. My son has gone from preferring eggs, sausage, hash browns, and toast to getting the smash burger with fries. He really loves it. I like variety so I've tried many things over the years. The breakfast burrito is great. I love the breakfast sandwich with ham and over medium eggs. Sausage gravy and biscuits are good. I also love the garden omlette a lot, I'll probably get that tomorrow with a side of sausage gravy and hash browns. I always get the hash browns, they are delicious. Keep doing what you do, Country Skillet! Don't change a thing. Oh, and I also have to say the entire staff is always fantastic. Just a great...
