A true gem! D.O.D had only been open about a month when I happened upon it while visiting my folks for the holidays. I was greeted by the incredibly friendly owner, Jon, and we chatted for a bit about music.

Coming from Chicago, we have an absolute abundance of craft and specialty coffee shops up here. I've been spoiled by some good coffee. I got espresso, and man was my mind blown. It was definitely a top five shot I've had in my entire life.

I bought a bag of beans to go, and I was very impressed with the roast and the quality. I'm not always great with tasting notes, just appreciate a good cup, but my friend who is more knowledgeable and has been making coffee longer than I have shared "It's like the best bourbon barrel coffee mixed with the best honey washed coffee I've home brewed."

Lovely impromptu visit to DOD coffee roastery while visiting Clearwater. We were greeted by the delightful barista, Adina, who took us on a journey through the acquisition of beans from around the world, the different ways the beans are processed before packaging in home countries, and the roasting practices once this company receives the green beans. Then, owner, Jon, chimed in with his experience in the industry and the path he traveled before opening DOD coffee roastery. Amazingly, we learned of a common link in CA and by the end of our visit and our impromptu stop ended up feeling like a visit home. We sampled nitro tea and a new chocolate chip cookie (huge) while sipping on the Brazilian iced coffee drinks we ordered. My friend took home the giant oatmeal raisin cookie for a subsequent treat.
