Gino's Italian Pizza Clearwater — Restaurant in Largo

Ordered through Grubhub, prices very good, delivery didn't take overly long, but execution was terrible.

Ordered two meals so this review won't cover the pizza, but I don't think I'll be trying it. One order of fried meat ravioli and chicken parmesan along with two tiramisu. The size of the meals is very good and they both came with a small salad and some garlic bread. In theory quite the offer. Food was piping hot when it arrived which surprised me, so hot that the metal pans they were in couldn't be comfortably held; my first thought was microwave, but no proof.

I only had one bite of the chicken parmesan as it was my roomies, but it was salty and she said the same. It did taste better than my own though. The ravioli is advertised as coming with a white sauce, but it was more a mix of oil, swimming in it really. Honestly I'm not picky and the food order came during my period, I WANTED greasy, cheesy food, so to actually find a meal that I didn't want? It's quite the feat.

At first I liked the garlic bread, it reminded me of what I used to make and I liked that a lot! Then I realized, I used to make garlic bread on plain white bread toasted in the oven. Warm, garlicky, good, but not what I would expect to get from a restaurant. It seems like they use hoagie rolls and toast them for their garlic bread. Wasn't even able to finish the bread that came with my meal, it just wasn't substantial or flavorful enough to eat on its own.

As for the ravioli it was filled with a mystery meat and salty. I know I chose the meat ravioli, but I thought it would be meat AND cheese, instead it was just this weird pinkish meat, kind of the color of Spam, maybe a bit darker. There was cheese toasted on top which was good and at first I liked it, but after two pieces of ravioli it was simply too salty even with the garlic bread to sop up the oil.

The salad, didn't expect much, it's a side salad, but I've had bagged salads that are better, MUCH better. Even the Italian dressing couldn't save it.

Finally, dessert! Again, I'm on my period here and if you're not aware a woman with cravings will eat anything. I've gone for straight Nutella as a sweet treat, not even fresh stuff. The piece of tiramisu is big, like a pie slice. Already I had suspicions as I saw no sign of lady fingers, but again dessert, yay!

It was still mostly frozen.

It's thawing now, but I tried a bite, very little flavor.

All in all, no plans to try it again and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. As I've seen another mention of possible new owners I'm curious if that's what's happened, or perhaps different chefs for different days? Hard to say.

BUT NOT TO FEAR! If you want some delicious pizza try Rizzoli's, it's in the area as well and is wonderful. I'm going to be sticking with them from now on. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a tiramisu...

Today was my first time trying Ravello - I was craving garlic knots so badly I was willing to pillage a small village to get to these delicious balls of dough and garlic.

I couldn't pick up the order due to work but was struggling to meet the $15 minimum delivery fee because I thought it would be "weird" if I ordered $15 in just garlic knots (I will next time, Ravello be warned!).

This forced me to try their meatballs in sauce, the knots and the antipasto salad all of which is beyond amazing!!!

I put in my order for a light bake on the knots - I was half tempted to state "make them soft and squishy like me" or "lightly toasted like a marshmallow but not like Stay Puft at the end of Ghostbusters".

This was the FIRST time a place ever got them so perfect and I do mean PERFECT!

The meatballs are just the right size and everything is so amazing. Delivery took longer than I anticipated but that's right - I work off of one of THE WORST roads in Florida so I cannot fault them for that.

I would wait 2 hours for this delicious food!!!

AND IT DOESN'T STOP THERE! Most delivery persons never smile anymore. They act like they hate your face and would stab you in your sleep (figuratively speaking). This delivery guy was wearing my favorite colors (Green/Yellow) so of course I have to like him immediately but he was SMILING! AND HE WAS NICE!

I will be not only ordering from this place again but I will be recommending it to everyone I know!!

Two times now they ruined my pizza. I order sausage, mushroom and cheese, I get home, I have 5 mushrooms and pepperoni. The lady tells me to come get a new pizza they refuse to deliver it. She told me that she didn’t want the pizza back so I left it for my kids to eat half of the cheese side I get here and they won’t give me my money back and tell me they won’t make me a pizza.. Worse customer service ever..they agree to make me a new pizza. I was so upset I couldn’t eat dinner after all that. Thankfully he gave me a 2 liter of soda.

I was asked by the restaurant to change me review. I can add that they did give me a 2 ltr of Soda after they started to charge me for it and I said, " you can at least give me the Soda since this is second time they put peperoni on my pizza. If 2 ltr of Soda makes up for the way I was treated I would have given a better review. I never mentioned that the girl at the counter told me I didn't have to return the pizza and when I got there, she would admit that she told me that. She stayed quiet even when I asked her to tell the owner. It is a shame because they have very good pizza if they get the order done right.
